Lately there have been some rumours about the release date of X1. It was said that it supposedly won’t see the light of the day till some time in February 2009. I’ve told many people otherwise and I have now fetched an official statement regarding the X1 and its release.

- I can confirm that we will be launching the X1 product in 2nd Half of 2008, as per our announcement of 10th February that we made in Barcelona, said Aldo Liguori, who is the Corporate Vice President of the Global Communications and PR department at Sony Ericsson.

So, there you have it. The only reason for the mysterious “10th of February release” is the fact that Sony Ericsson (or should I say Microsoft) has yet to decide on when to publicly announce the operating system and technical specifications of the X1, and thereby also a precise release date.

Lo tau bedanya X1 sama TEXEL, SKARVEN or wateva???? X1 udah resmi di-announce jadi barangnya jelas2 ada, sedangkan TEXEL dkk.... cuman spy pic yg beredar! Gw kasih tau ya, orang bisa jepret spy pic gak peduli barangnya udah slese ato blom, gak peduli baranganya udah bisa berfungsi ato belum. Asal casingnya udah lengkap, jepret, jadi deh spy pic. Tujuannya?? apalagi kalo bukan menenangkan fans Motorola.

Inget kembali WMC2008 kemaren.

SE ngumumuin X1 (gak usah gw crita bisa apa aja), dua seri G (mana ada smartphone Moto yg kameranya 5MP sampe sekarang??), W980 (ROKR mana yg memori internalnya 8GB dan HSDPA???), dua seri C (sampe detik ini, Motorola cuman punya satu henpon berkamera 3.2MP!! itupun blom masuk sini! Tajem apa ngeblur kagak tau yaa...), dan Z770 (mo biang nyontek RAZR?? Semua henpon clamshell itu nyontek RAZR ya?)

Nokia ngumumin N96 (Motorola mana yg fiturnya nyamain ini?), N78, 6220, 6210 (udah, Motorola gak usah maksa)

Samsung ngumumin U900 SOUL, G810, F480, dan segerombolan laen. Intinya: porfolio mereka banyak!

LG ngumumin hnepon2 KF700 dan henpon2 cantik bin inovatif laen. Intinya: mereka kreatif dan gak bikin Chocolate 2, Chocolate 3, Chocolate maxx, Chocolate 8!

And.......................

Motorola proudly announced Z6w, W161, and W181. Z6w = Z6 cuman disuntik WiFi, desain dan fitur laen tetep aja segitu2. W161/W181.... ini gak usah diomongin, pembokat loe juga blom tentu mau kalo dikasih.

Dari pengumuman tiap vendor si atas, apa yg bisa loe simpulin??? Siapa yg inovatif? Siapa yg portfolio-nya banyak? Siapa yg ketinggalan? Siapa yg "rendah hati" dan "tidak sombong" serta "tidak suka pamer"??

Loe sekarang mo ngomong apa? Mo ngomong Motorola akan mendapatkan profitnya mulai H2 2008?? Ato Motorola udah mempersiapkan SKARVEN KODAK PHONE 12 MP dan TEXEL untuk dirilis pertengahan taon ini dan akan jadi heroes phone??

Kalo penjelasan sewaktu MWC '08 di atas sih gak perlu diulas lagi juga orang udah pada tahu dengan sendirinya kok.
Makanya sub-forum GSM yang huruf depannya "M" itu akhir2 ini sepi banget kaya kuburan karena yang mau dibahas cuma dikit, itu juga gak jauh2 dari edisi kesekian si hape hero jaman lawasnya yang sekarang ditutupi juga dengan lapisan emas biar bisa dijual dengan harga mahal padahal isinya hmmm... gak usah diomongin deh kan udah pada tahu semua kaya gimana...

Tentang informasi jadwal rilis X1 yang masih simpang siur memang begitulah adanya. Tapi kalo kita pegang info awal sewaktu Press Release dan juga pernyataan dari Liguori dan Dorman di atas, kita bisa berharap bahwa X1 akan mulai tersedia di paruh kedua tahun 2008 ini. Yup, betul, H2 berarti Juli-Desember. Mudah-mudahan bulan tepatnya akan mengikuti tradisi SE yang selama beberapa tahun terakhir ini merilis smartphone bisnisnya di sekitar bulan September-Oktober.

Black or Silver? Tergantung selera lah. Dua-duanya keren. Gw aja sampe bingung, kalo nanti keluar beli yang hitam atau silver ya?
Biasanya kalo type lain sejak awal gw udah bisa mutusin ntar kalo keluar gw mau beli yang warna itu ah... khusus X1 ini asli gw sendiri bingung yang mana yang mau gw pilih.
Hitam : keren. Silver : elegan dan terkesan mahal dan bisnis banget.
Pusing? Tunggu rilis aja deh... yang mana yang duluan dijual aja lah daripada pusing.
