Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 Rachael closer to officialdom

Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 (a.k.a. Rachael) just made another public appearance, confirming the rumors that its official announcement is coming as soon as 3 November. An official sales brochure of what is Sony Ericsson make-or-break project appeared online, revealing another particularly cool part of the handset.

Update: Sony Ericsson have already setup a mysterious landing promo page for their "next big thing", coming on 3 November. The only link available on this landing page leads to Sony Ericsson homepage but not without including a referral for its origin, which quite directly mentions Rachael ([tautan dihapus] Well, the mysterious landing page is no longer such a mystery. Ain't that right, Mr. Watson?

Now back to that leaked XPERIA X10 sales brochure. The new fact that we managed to get out of it is that the Android-running handset will pack 32GB of internal memory, expandable even further with memory cards. That puts the XPERIA X10 on top of its class, matching the Nokia N97 record.

Just don't get overexcited about that 1080p logo on the brochure. Much like Sony advertise their digicams, we bet it doesn't have anything to do with video recording, but instead indicates that the camera can be set to capture FullHD 1920 x 1080 pixel images (which is mere 2 megapixels really, so not a big challenge for a 8 megapixel camera).

Android turns 2.0, gets a birthday Eclair and many new features

Android v2.0 otherwise known as Eclair is official and there's a long list of improvements it brings. The camera interface got revamped and it's now well equipped to handle high-end cameras. The browser got a major update as well, as did Bluetooth and many other aspects of the OS.

The improvements in the camera department sound great - there are detailed flash settings, macro shooting mode, scene modes, white balance, color effects and digital zoom. Without these things a high resolution camera barely made sense with Android's limited camera options, but now it's ready for the big league.

The Android browser was already among the best mobile browsers we've seen and with Android 2.0 they've made it even better. For one, leaks of the updated version seemed promising.

The browser got partial HTML5 support, including the interesting video tag support. YouTube already has a demo up and running, which uses HTML5 instead of Flash to show videos. Even though it's just a demo, the interface is a replica of the Flash version, both visually and functionally. It works only in desktop Chrome and Safari so far because it uses the MP4 codec. Many mobile devices have hardware acceleration for that codec, so this could be the replacement of the mobile version of YouTube, which offers only low-quality videos.

There are other general improvements as well. As of v1.6 Android will support various screen resolutions, so it's no longer stuck with HVGA displays. The virtual keyboard has been rearranged to increase accuracy and to further improve typing speed, the multi-touch support lends a hand (it doesn't say if this multitouch support will bring things like pinch zoom or not). The dictionary also learns from you and offers contacts names as suggestions.

Another thing that was missing in Android's arsenal was proper Bluetooth support, but v2.0 brings support for sending files as well as the Phone Book Access Profile, which allows car kits to download the phonebook and also display the name of the caller. We even saw a demo, which shows the makings of a Bluetooth multiplayer game too.

Messaging was also improved with a combined inbox, search through SMS and MMS messages and easy synchronization with multiple accounts (including Exchange accounts).

Android v2.0 is shaping up to be a great update, now if only someone would give a definitive answer which devices would be upgradeable to 2.0. HTC are already hard at work on an Android v2.0 device and we can't wait to see what will they come up with.

Maaf bos, kalau gak salah HTC hero masih versi cupcake kok ( 1,5).
Versi 1.6 baru ada di device2 baru, seperti Acer Liquid, sama beberapa di Samsung, LG dan Motorola.

Sekarang pada berhembus rumor baru kalau tanggal 3 November nanti, SE akan MERILIS bukan PERKENALAN tentang rachael.

Ini sempat membingungkan, karena awal2 Rachael digemborkan akan dirilis awal tahun , minggu ke 8, 2010.

Sony Ericsson berencana meluncurkan ponsel berbasis Android pertamanya pada November mendatang. Berdasarkan keterangan di situs resmi Sony Ericsson, vendor ponsel asal Inggris itu menyebutkan kemungkinan mereka akan meluncurkan Rachael atau yang juga dikenal Xperia X10 ini pada 3 November 2009.

Berdasarkan bocoran dari pihak Sony Ericsson yang dikutip dari Computer Buyer, Rabu (28/10/2009), ponsel ini disebut-sebut akan memiliki layar sentuh 4 inch capacitive OLED.( Kenapa gak AMOLED yah )

Untuk urusan fotografi, Sony Ericsson menanamkan kemampuan kamera 8,1 megapixel dengan kemampuan fitur teknologi menengah ke atas termasuk spot focus, face detection dan seting ISO manual. ( Benarkah ???? )

Sony Ericsson mengklaim, kamera ini akan menjadi salah satu kelebihan handset Android yang belum pernah ada sebelumnya. Sebagai perbandingan, iPhone 3GS yang tengah populer hanya memiliki kamera 3 megapixel. Sedangkan kompetitor lain yang juga membenamkan Android dalam handset mereka yaitu HTC Hero dan Samsung Galaxy hanya dilengkapi kamera berukuran 5 megapixel.

Soal kinerja ponsel, Sony Ericsson mempercayakan prosesor Qualcomm 1GHz Snapdragon sebagai platformnya. Xperia X10 dibekali kapasitas memori internal 32GB dan slot kartu memori microSDHC yang membuatnya ideal untuk dijadikan media player portabel.

Rencananya, Sony Ericsson akan mengapalkan Xperia X10 berbasis Andorid ini dengan kapasitas integrasi ke Facebook, Twitter, dan aplikasi Google.

Sony Ericsson has launched a website that tells us the company is going to announce something on 3 November. Aside from all the standard ad hype and catch words aimed at making us eagerly looking forward to the date, the page contains a link leading to the home page of the manufacturer´s website that in turn, mentions the cherished word "Rachael". Perhaps Sony Ericsson will finally announce their first Android-based handset that we´ve come to call the "many-named", so far we´ve heard several it will roll out as the Rachael, XPERIA X3, XPERIA X10 and now Infinity. The above mentioned website is to blamed for the latest nickname, because that´s the word in the picture with the manufacturer´s logo in it. This, of course, caused quite a few tongues to wag and some blogs dedicated to Android news started the rumor that would be the real name of the much-anticipated device. We just hope the codename hasn´t to do with the amount of time until the official release of the cell phone.

A low-quality video showing a leaflet of the Sony Ericsson XPERIA X3 got leaked on the Internet earlier today. The advertising material provides insight on hardware specifications that, save one, we are pretty well aware of - 1GHz processor, 8-megapixel camera, 4.1-inch OLED display, 32GB built-in memory. What´s brand new, however, is the caption saying "1080p Full HD". Now, if the handset allows video capture at such a resolution... well, that´s news indeed, because if this is true, the Sony Ericsson XPERIA X3 will be the most capable cell phone in terms of video capture ever.

Nah untuk itu kita harus sabar menunggu sampai tanggal 3 nanti.

imho,paling cuman announcement aja.logika nya,X2 aja blum nongol2.mungkin ngga loncat langsung rilis X10 yg harusnya emg jd flagship buat taon depan.kan bisa jadi mematikan pasar X2 itu sendiri,palagi dgn harga yg ngga jauh beda mungkin.pastilah calon pembeli lebih milih X10 ketimbang X2 yg dianggap punya fitur ''setengah-setengah'' alias nanggung.cmiiw

Iya, maaf sebelumnya,

Soal harga kemungkinan akan dikategorikan setara dengan xperia lainnya. Tapi mengingat brosur yang bocor, ada kemungkinan rachael bisa dibandrol diatas 10 juta. Perkiraanku sih 10-12 juta.
Tapi yah lihat saja entar gimana jadinya pas perilisan harga.

Kalau soal jual balik, yang namanya PDA phone, pasti harganya jatuh bos, tak terkecuali Android.

Perusahaan sekelas HTC pun kalau dijual kembali, harga tetap jatuh.

Karena itu lah, aku mencoba untuk memberi pengalaman dan sedikitnya menjelaskan bagimana cara kerja android kepada teman2 disini. Pendek kata sharing

Justru android itu paling gampang di tweak boss. Kayak G1, ( aku lupa situs mana tuh, android pada bisa di tweak kemana2 ).
Sebagai conto saja, kalau dibaca
Andorid versi paling awal yaitu G1, ternyata bisa juga ditweak dan diupgrade ke android versi 2.

btw....numpang lewat..mok komen dikit...kan ini barang blon di announce...kok dah pada ribut toh para boz boz besar ini....pk acara bandingin segala....fitur kan baru colongan info sana sini...jgn lupa SE itu tukang sunat fitur lho..harusnya kan thread ini masuk ke portfolio...kl dah di umumkan baru jlas resminya...baru deh thread ini dbuat....biasanya kan gitu....dah gitu pk nama X10...mang dah pasti namanya X10??? inget kasus bella?? paris?? kokoro?? idou sampai satio?? nama berubah2 sewaktu2 lho sebelum presentasi...

gpp lah bro, qta kan sangkin excited na ma x10.. hehe.. sama aj kaya waktu itu gw d trit x1.. rilisna mah belom tp da gembar gembor alias berbagi info yg qta dpt masing2, klo ga slh hp na dl blm kluar da sampe trit k 5.. alhasil, gw jdna beli x1 pas launching na, pdhal barang asli na aj blm perna liat.. itu jg berkat bro chen tu dl.. hehe ^^
