It's official - Nokia unveiled their new flagship, the Nokia N8. With 12MP camera and 720p video recording, the latest handset from the Finnish company is on track to becoming the new imaging champ in the mobile phone world.
The camera on the Nokia N8 is equipped with Carl Zeiss optics and a xenon flash. Nokia says that the image sensor "rivals those found in compact digital cameras". The camera can also capture 720p HD video at 25 frames per second and offers built-in video editing tools.

The Nokia N8 also features two different TV-out interfaces - the standard 3.5mm audio jack and a mini-HDMI port (a first for the GSM world). The Nokia N8 also features Dolby Digital Plus Surround Sound over the HDMI link.
The Nokia N8 offers up to 3 hours and 20 minutes of video capture or 7 hours of video playback (6 over HDMI) thanks to the 1200mAh battery. The talk time is impressive too - 12 hours, and the battery will last for 50 hours of music playback.

There's plenty of memory to keep the videos on too - the Nokia N8 has 16GB of built-in memory and supports microSD cards up to 32GB. As for viewing things on the phones itself, the N8 comes with a 3.5" capacitive touchscreen with 16:9 aspect ratio with nHD resolution (360 x 640).
The Nokia N8 is connectivity champ - it is a true globetrotter with quad-band GSM/EDGE and five-band 3G. Yep, five bands - 850/900/1700/1900/2100. It has Wi-Fi b/g/n, Bluetooth 2.1, GPS with A-GPS (plus other positioning methods), microUSB with USB On-the-go and a built-in FM transmitter. Having mentioned GPS, the N8 will of course come with Ovi Maps for free voice-guided navigation.

The N8 is the first device that runs Symbian^3 and it also has support for the Qt cross-platform apps and UI framework that should allow development of apps that run on Symbian and MeeGo. It has multiple homescreens and is proficient in social networking. It also offers improved application and graphics performance.

The Nokia N8 is expected to become available in the third quarter with an estimated retail price of 370 euro (500 US dollars). It will be available in Dark Grey, Silver White, Green, Blue, Orange.

Symbian ^1 tidak ada tp Symbian ^2 ada... Berangkat dari rumor ketika konsumen sudah bosan terhadap UI dari Symbian yg begitu2 saja maka tersebar kabar bhw Nokia membuat Symbian baru dengan nama Symbian ^2 namun beberapa saat kemudian ganti jadi Symbian ^3

Symbian 1st dan Symbian 2nd juga ada... Itu di jaman Nokia dulu semisal N70

Ralat dikit yah...
Symbian ^1 dan Symbian ^3 adalah penamaan baru sejak bergabungnya sistem operasi Symbian menjadi Symbian Foundation.
Symbian ^1 pada dasarnya adalah, atau bisa dibilang nama lain dari Symbian S60 v9.4 5th edition.
Symbian S60 memang menjadi platform dasar dari Symbian Foundation.
Diawali dengan S60 v9.4 5th edition, dimulailah era Symbian Foundation.
Dan AFAIK malah yang tidak ada itu Symbian ^2 karena dari Symbian ^1 langsung loncat ke Symbian ^3.

Mengenai 1st, 2nd, 3th, dan 5th... itu adalah edisi dari versi Symbian model lama, yang terakhir adalah versi 9.4 edisi ke-5 (5th edition) yang juga dikenal dengan nama Symbian ^1 seperti disebut di atas.

Symbian ^2 juga ada namun hanya sebatas sampai diberita. Gadget yang pasang tidak ada dan bahkan tidak mungkin ada karena Symbian ^2 proyek gagal. Banyak kerusakan software yang ditemukan pada Symbian ^2 padahal web-kit dan software developernya sudah dirilis lho.

Symbian ^3 adalah yg terbaru dimana N8 menjadi gadget perdana yang memakainya. Penyempurnaan dari Symbian ^2.

Mdh2an Symbian ^3 ini bisa sempurna sehingga banyak gadget yang akan pakai karena sudah tersiar rumor soal Symbian ^4. UI-nya bisa dilihat di youtube dan gadget pertama yg akan pakai OS ini akan diumumkan pada Q1, 2011

Thus the presence of an ND filter in front of the lens allows the camera to shoot in bright ambient light without reducing (stopping down) the aperture.

* Video lacks continuous autofocus and use an Active Hyper Focal Distance system to make sure everything is in focus. That way they lose macro capabilities of the video camera but gain fool-proof focus reliability during video recording.
* Nokia N8 won't support special video recording modes such as 120fps high-speed video or time-lapse recordings.
* The HDMI connection allows both videos and still photos to be viewed up to 1280x720 resolution and supports Dolby 5.1 Surround sound (if the source multimedia offers it).

Hape tiruan China sekarang kan lebih "canggih", bahkan sampai merk dan typenya pun sama persis.

Satio xenonnya lemah gitu, gw yg tadinya mupeng aja langsung ilfil seketika.
Kalo N8 sih ngakunya xenon sekuat N82, yah kita liat aja ntar hasil kameranya kayak apa. Dan melihat posisi xenon yg mayan deket ama lensa, semoga aja hasil jepretannya kagak bertaburan red eye dimana2.

IMO lebih kuat c905 deh, gw uda pernah bandingin ama N82 gw dl sebelum dijual....tp yah kalo N8 ini penerus N82, harusny xenonny spt N82.
