Bunch of Nokias spotted - N79, N85, 5800, 6260

Today a lot of unannounced Nokia handsets leaked on a Flickr account. The images are not of best quality but still they are far better than the blurry snapshots we usually get with rumors like this. All the devices seem legit and not surprisingly the Flickr account of the owner of these images has already been deleted.
But let's not waste any more time and see today's catch. Few details are known and most are based on the images themselves.

Nokia N79

Nokia N78 has just started shipping and there's already a successor. The Nokia N79 is 3G-enabled and runs on the Symbian S60 UI as most of the other devices in this article. The design is rather unassuming but somehow looks a bit like the Nokia N82. Did you spot it's got a 5 megapixel camera on it?

Nokia N85

The Nokia N85 is again a Symbian smartphone. It has a 5 megapixel auto focus camera, Carl-Zeiss optics and features a dual-sliding form factor much like the Nokia N95.
The Nokia N85 is 3G-enabled too and follows the latest N-series design, which started with the Nokia N81 and which we are hardly digging. So we are guessing - Navi wheel, anyone?

Nokia 5800 XpressMedia (a.k.a. Nokia Tube)

The Nokia Tube is finally demystified. Called Nokia 5800 XpressMedia, this highly exciting full Touch UI handset is obviously spawning a lineup of its own. Armed with something that looks like a 3 megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss optics, the Nokia 5800 will obviously not be at the top of this series. A videocalls camera is also nowhere to be seen - no 3G?
We were so impressed with the Nokia Touch UI demos that we just can't wait to see it in person. And nope, you are not going to hear us say "iPhone 3G killer". Oops, there we said it.

Nokia 6260

The last of today's crop is the Nokia 6260. A slider, yes, and a pretty one, we may add. Is it just us or it looks a lot like the Nokia 6220 classic?
One thing's for sure - the Nokia 6260 certainly got our attention with it 5 megapixel camera. But what's with that name - Nokia already have a handset dubbed as Nokia 6260?

5800 memang gw jg ngerasa sudah harus di luncurkan ke pasaran.tp selama SE belom ngeluarin xperia nya gw rasa bakal masih nunggu dulu ni.paling2 kalo di keluarin skarang saingannya sama samsung omnia atau HTC diamond..mungkin kalo di luar negeri saingannya langsung sama iphone.cuma iphone kan yg resmi ga masuk sini jadi kalo di keluarin sekarang terasa melenggang sendirian walaupun omnia ama HTC diamond udah keluar duluan

Rasanya kurang baik kalo disaingkan dengan Diamond dan Omnia coz 5800 ini bkn high-end tp cuma mid-end doank

Android App Market is announced, still waiting for the first device

Google clearly haven't been wasting their time recently - they have prepared a new online platform for delivering third-party applications to Android-based handsets, called Android Market. And this new Android Market seems to be just around the corner.

Much like the Apple AppStore, the Android Market is a native application that runs on the handset but connects to the new online Google service. It will be used as download manager and installer for third-party applications for the Android OS.

The Android Market will offer a very simple three-step interface for collecting applications. All it takes for the developer is to register and than describe and upload the app. Unlike the AppStore, there will be no need for approval from Google before that. The Android market will also feature a rating and comment system similar to the one of YouTube.

The first Android device that's supposed to roll out is the HTC Dream. No details about the device specs are known, and there are no leaked photos either. Even its release date is not carved in stone yet, if you know what we mean.

The one thing that's known however is that this first device will be shipped with a beta version of the Market application, which will include only free applications. There is obviously some more i-dotting and t-crossing to be done before the paid applications hit the road.

Meanwhile Google also announced the winners in the first Android developer challenge. From 50 developer teams to reach the finals 10 received a hefty 275,000 US dollar checks and 10 more walked away with the modest 100,000 US dollar awards. You can check the winning apps here. Those aren't really spectacular so we guess the main purpose of the prizes is to encourage more developers to enter the next round.

Bisa jadi tp tau kan si Nokia kalo ngasih harga... Suka nggak wajar apalagi 5800 adalah Hp pertama yg menggunakan OS S60 Touchscreen perdana..

hmmm mungkin 5800 akan di set dengan harga samsung omnia karena sama2 touch screen.atau bahkan lebih mahal lg.

klo harga segitu dengan OS symbian mending pake PDA aja dah dengan Winmob

Android lebih lucu kayaknya...... mahal banget kalo di range segitu

Mid end secara fitur.... Tp kalo soal harga kan bisa berapa saja apalagi Nokia

NSeries Nokia klo launching, harganya suka gak tau diri...

N79 bgs bwt gaya, tp perhatikan deh hasil kamera (stlh cetak) &video nya, bandingkan dgn nokia lain yg 5MP &vid VGA 30fps, kurang bgs kualitasnya, aplg miskin soal 3D & game. jauh bgt dgn N95 &N82 (bkn hny krn xenon flash) saya g bohong, silakan anda tes sndri klo g percaya. aq tulis smua MINUS N79 d thread "N82 vs N79"
