Anssi Vanjoki, Executive Vice President of Nokia's Markets division, will delve into how mobile games are playing a key role in the company's move into the services market in akeynote address at this year's Game Developers Conference Mobile (GDC Mobile), being held February 18-19 in San Francisco.

Titled "Play with Anybody Everywhere -- Context, the New Paradigm for Game Play," Vanjoki's keynote will address how Nokia's N-Gage made-for-mobile games service brings value for the games industry and how the company plans to accomplish connecting people through play.

With an installed base of millions of N-Gage compatible Nokia devices, mobile games play a strategic role in the company's growth in the service market.

"Bringing people together on a common platform works for the PC, consoles, and the web browser, and Nokia is well-positioned to bring a similar level of platform ubiquity to mobile games," said Jamil Moledina, executive director, Game Developers Conference. "Giving developers thechance to create community experiences on any device is a key goal of the GDC overall, and so we are pleased to host Vanjoki's vision for empowering our attendees."

As executive vice president of Nokia's newly formed Markets unit, Vanjoki is responsible for sales, marketing, manufacturing and logistics of all Nokia products and services. Vanjoki has held several senior executive positions throughout his distinguished career with the company, including serving as Executive Vice President and General Manager of the company's Multimedia division, with overall responsibility for the Nokia Nseries multimedia computer device fleet and Nokia services. Vanjoki is a member of the Nokia Group Executive Board, a position he's held since 1998.

GDC Mobile 2008 will provide mobile game developers from around the globe the opportunity to debate the future of the medium with executives from leading mobile network operators, advanced technology providers, handset manufacturers, and major console game publishers. Held in conjunction with the Game Developers Conference, GDC Mobile 2008 will offer in-depth technical and business oriented mobile game development sessions supported by research and market analysis for every region in the world.

Iya sih, dgr2 bisa pake NSS buat ganti Product Code, tp klo sampe ketauan, garansi bakal dibatalin. Soalnya NSS program illegal....:)

With PdfPrinter you can create PDF documents, also known as Adobe Acrobat files, on your Nokia Eseries smartphone, such as the Nokia E61(i), the Nokia E65 and the Nokia E90.

PdfPrinter is a printer driver, it transforms the generic printer commands generated by programs into PDF commands and stores them in a PDF file. As a result you can create PDF files from most programs that can print.

The resulting PDF file can now be backed up, viewed on a desktop PC, stored in your corporate database, emailed to a client, etc.

PdfPrinter (for S60 3rd edition smartphones) is only suitable for Nokia Eseries smartphones. Other S60 3rd edition smartphones do not have the printing software components, and these phones offer limited or no printing support.

PdfPrinter (for S60 3rd edition smartphones) creates PDF version 1.2 (Adobe® Acrobat® 3.x), 1.3 (Acrobat 4.x) and 1.4 (Acrobat 5.x) files.

* You can set the PDF properties of the file, such as the title, the author and important keywords.
* PdfPrinter compresses the file, making it less demanding on storage space and also making it faster and cheaper to email to another party.
* You can restrict access to the file by specifying whether the contents can be copied, printed or viewed by special-needs viewers.
* You can encrypt the file with the Standard 40 bits encryption (Acrobat 3.x and 4.x) and the much safer 128 bits encryption schemes.
* It is not possible to use the Standard PDF Symbol and Zapf Dingbats fonts. Neither is it possible to embed fonts.

Not all S60 3rd edition devices contain the printer subsystem. Nokia Eseries devices do contain the printer subsystem. PdfPrinter can safely be installed on other S60 3rd edition devices, but it will not work.

Lgan klo kebutuhan pdf memang pada dasarnya buat business, jd wajar lah klo E series yg di prioritas kan. Kan E series emang udh di segment kan ke kalangan business people...

Yang jelas setelah update N73 ME dengan firmware 4.0750.31.2.1
ada penambahan menu baru yaitu sharing online dan search 3.6 sudah build in di firmware-nya.

Setuju dengan bro Shadow God, tentang update firmware memang seri N selalu menjadi anak emas Nokia deh. Apa karena harga seri N mahal ya jadi selalu dapet priorotas update. Selain 5700 ada 6120c, 6110n, dan 6290 yang update-nya juga lama sekali, bahkan belum pernah ada updatenya.
6120c malah lebih tragis untuk sementara ditarik dari NSU.

Nokia N82 skrg dilengkapi dengan User Data Preservation . Kegunaannya pada saat kita Update FW, program 3rd party dan data kita tidak ikut dihapus/hilang pada saat upgrade. Fasilitas ini sementara hanya utk N82. Tetapi karena ini adalah fasilitas yg baru saja diimplementasikan, disarankan utk tetap membackup, utk menhindari hal2 yg tidak diinginkan.

User Data PreservationThanks to the Kevin from the S60 Multimedia Blog we’ve just realized that Nokia N82 is the first S60 phone that features User Data Preservation and fixes the most annoying problem and the most common complaints about updating a devices firmware via the Nokia Software Updater.

To be honest I am not that much excited about as I always taking firmware update as the nice opportunity to clean up my phone, clean up my memory card and than proceed with restoring necessary data and must have applications. Sure it is not very handy method but I’ll probably do the same even with the phone that features user data preservation.

From other hand I do agree that for inexperienced user fact that they’ll loose everything stored in the phone memory after the firmware update sounds pretty scary. Even worse some of them don’t even know that it is possible to simply back up phone from the memory card menu and restore it after the successful update.

So, although firmware update is always highly suggestible, this is one of the main reasons why some users refuse to upgrade phone to new software. They are simply annoyed with long and boring reinstalling all necessary applications and especially scary about loosing contacts and messages.

To fix these problems Nokia has made necessary changes in the firmware upgrade process and somehow bypass the phone memory formatting which basically means that all of personal data will survive the firmware update and that you can forget annoying data restore.

Also it is important to say that Nokia N82 is the first phone with this feature and therefore you should always back up your phone memory before performing a firmware update as precaution measure in case something goes wrong.

N82 semakin memperkokoh posisi bahwa dia lah sang masterpiece seri N...

Masalahnya N82 belum ada FW upgradenya, jd belum bisa buktiin keampuhan dari User Data Preservation.

Tapi itu tinggal masalah waktu.. Mana mungkin Nokia membiarkan seri N terkatung2 dgn f/w lama
