saya ada masalah nih dengan 5450 saya.
bru kan coba mo update ROM yang bru dapet dari websitenya [tautan dihapus]

nah, pada saat tengah2 progress updating ROM, secara tidak sengaja, kabel hotsyncnya tuh keputus (kelepas dari iPAQnya)

wal hasil.... tuh iPAQ sekarang nggak bisa dipake..... karena ROMnya kan jadi ilang.....

pas bru bawa ke HP center, setalah di cek, ternyata divonis kalo iPAQ 5450 bru tuh yang rusak ada pada Boardnya, dan harus ganti handheld, karena HP nggak ada stock untuk board 5450.

kira2 ada solusi lain nggak selain ganti handheld?? atau mungkin ada yang bisa bantuin bru??
pusing nih........
soalnya kalo ganti handheldnya tuh harganya = iPAQ 2210 NEW GRS.

Wah kecelakaan siapa yang sangka ya...
Sudah coba di update ulang dengan ROM yang sama belum bro? Soalnya setahu saya, semua proses update ROM itu tidak perlu boot ke ROM yang di dalam PDA... Analoginya hard disk komputer yang masih kosong bisa di install ulang dari CDROM bootable... Dalam hal ini adalah software flash update PDAybs...

Pada saat update ROM, software ROM flasher akan menyuruh PDA untuk mengecek ke kabel koneksi saja... Jadi pada saat update ROM, yang bekerja adalah software ROM flasher yang terinstall di Windows... Bukan ROM di PDA...

Tapi ini saya tahu nya ketika saya update Loox 600 saya (sudah 4 kali update), sama sekali tidak keluar apa2 di layar PDA... Padahal dalam kondisi menyala... Kesimpulan saya, pada saat update ROM, ROM di dalam PDA akan di override oleh software ROM flasher yang dari Windows melalu cable sync... Entah apakah kondisi yang sama berlaku untuk iPAQ 5450...

Thanks for putting me on the right track, its amazing how when you have your mind set on a fix that you completely forget the basic, you wouldn't believe I work in Tech Support!!
Here is how I fixed it..
Power+Mail+App+Soft Reset, this brings you to a hp screen with an empty progress bar.
Ensure ActiveSync is installed on your host.
Dock the Ipaq and your host should acknowledge it's presence with a USB attach ping!
Launch the Ipaq ROM Update SP27674, ignore the on screen instruction about "soft reset", just continue..
ENSURE THE DOCKING CRADLE IS POWERED BY AC (mains).
You will get a warning "updating ROM, do not touch anything..!"
The progress bar on both the host and the ipaq will move (states it will take upto 10 minutes and it did).
Simply following instructions from there on.......
And now my silver paper weight is once again a useful Handheld heaven.

Thanks to Elrendhel, he reminded me about ActiveSync which I had remove because some other forum suggested the Ultra32-edit software (can't remember where I got it from, but wished I had ignored that advice)....

bru sih blom pernah update ulagn lagi setelah kejadian itu, soalnya kan bru konekin pake cable sync, nggak kedetek sama sekali ama PC..... jadinya bru pikir bakalan sia2 tuh cara.....

ternyata harus pake sistim paksa juga yah??????

dah ada kabarnya mas bru ? saya juga pernah baca sih mirip step yang temen kita saranin itu.. yaitu rom lama musti di dump dulu..

How to install a ROM file downloaded from HP Site in the case when your
previous installation using the update utility from HP went wrong.

1-Download the English ROM of your iPaq on the HP site.
2-Open the ROM with UltraEdit [tautan dihapus] and delete the
firsts 32 first bytes.

3-Save the rom with this name nk.nb0
4-KILL ACTIVESYNC , if ActiveSync it running you wont be able to
continue.
4-Download this program [tautan dihapus]
(the romupdate program and the nk.nb0 should be in the same folder)

5-Switch your iPAQ to bootloader mode (press button 2+ button 3 + power
and reset) and then connect it to your usb cable or craddle.
6-Run the romupdate program and select port WCEUSBH001 and click OK
7-Hit Enter until you get a prompt USB>
8-Type this command lnb nk.nb0 and Hit Enter.
9-Wait until the process is ended.
