Percaya atau tidak percaya, Motorola akan segera menguasai pasar handphone Android karena begitu banyak type handphone Motorola Android yang akan dan sudah diluncurkan pada tahun 2010. Total keseluruhan akan ada lebih dari 30 handphone Motorola Android. Apa lagi target penjualan Motorola Droid akan mencapai 100 juta unit (kira-kira dalam waktu 3 tahun). Motorola Android flip-phone leaks

Images of a new Motorola Android smartphone have leaked, with the unnamed model having a flip cover form-factor similar to the Verizon Motorola Krave ZN4. The touchscreen handset has a transparent cover and a row of touch-sensitive controls; it’s also a MOTOBLUR device, it seems, going from icons on the homescreen.

According to IT168, where the images leaked, the phone is in prototype stage. Interesting it has dual network indicators showing in the status bar, which some are speculating could mean it has dual-3G capabilities for better coverage. Other tipped specs include a 5-megapixel camera and 720p HD video recording.

Of course, it could also be a Motorola-styled copy, running a ripped build of the company’s Android OS and themed around their popular Ming/Krave design.

Will Motorola’s next Android phone offer 3D?

A mysterious unnamed Motorola Android phone appeared over the weekend. A handful of pictures leaked out, but details remain scarce. Many sites were quick to point out the translucent flip cover featured on the front of the phone, but none have been able to explain its purpose.

According to a recent patent application filed by Motorola, that flip cover could be used to display 3D images. Made from a lenticular material, the cover is able to produce three dimensional images when it is closed.

A section of the patent reads:

“A cover is mechanically coupled to the housing and may be moved to overlie the display. The cover includes an optical element, such as a transparent lenticular material, through which the display may be viewed. The display presents images in two dimensions, and when the cover is “open“, the operator sees the displayed images, for example, diagrams and text, in two dimensions. However, when the cover is “closed“, the operator perceives the images presented through the optical element as three dimensional.”

The idea sounds awesome in theory, but we will have to wait to see how the implementation actually performs. Which types of Android applications do you think would benefit from a 3D display?

Almost identical to the previous original Motorola Cliq trial update that we saw a while back, this update will be seeded to a lucky few prior to a general release. With some nice highlights, it might be worth heading over to the official T-Mobile forums and subscribing to this thread and trying to partake and be a part of the trial period. With improved overall phone performance, visual voicemail enhancements, Bluetooth audio improvements, camera corrections, screen and display performance enhancements, text messaging improvements and touch screen enhancements update 1.31.43 looks to be quite the bug fix.

Remember this is a trial update for only 1,000 people right now, those not selected will receive their updates with the general public at a to be determined date!

Motorola MT720 Targets China’s Business Users

We just happened to be checking out Motorola's website this evening when we stumbled upon another Android-based handset. You're looking at the MT720, which is an OPhone flavored version of Android. Somehow this model flew under our radar. After a quick look around some of our favorite sites, everybody else seemed to have missed it, too.

As Motorola puts it, this smart phone targets China's high-end business users and features a resistive touch screen for writing characters. In terms of hardware, the MT720 is identical to the MT710 in every way. In fact, the only difference we could find between the two is that the MT720 features Flash Lite in the browser whereas the other does not. It also appears that the MT720 has some sort of a leather carry case/cover attached to the phone.

The meat and potatoes specs:

Motorola MT820 3D phone caught on video; expect June release

Last month, we told about this leaked Motorola Android phone, which allegedly uses Motorola’s dual screen 3D technology. Now, we have more on that. Chinese website IT168 got hold of this promotional video, which shows Motorola MT820 in action (IT168 is calling this device MT810, does not make a difference).
This video shows CCTV chairman using CMMB handset television function to watch Soccer World Cup matches, and this video must have been the part of promotions which will be carried out during World Cup.
MT820 has been code named “North Sea,” and it will come equipped with latest Android OS, 5 MP camera with auto focus and LED flash, 720P HD video recording ability. It is expected to release soon in China, sometime around World Cup (i.e. June).

Video is in Chinese, was not able to understand anything (Anyone.. please help with the translation), but it does give an idea of the device.

Android-Based Motorola XT502 Emerges

Mobile phone maker Motorola seems set to show to the world that it can do a nice work on the Android side of the market, as a new, yet-unreleased handset from the company has just emerged into the wild, supposedly based on Google's highly popular Android operating system, namely the Motorola XT502. This is not the first nor the only such device the company is expected to bring to the market during the ongoing year, but it should give it a helpful hand in its attempt to conquer the users' hearts.

The new Motorola XT502 was spotted over at the Bluetooth SIG and brought to light in a recent article from UnwiredView. Reportedly, the new mobile phone is expected to arrive on the market with a touchscreen display, while boasting quad-band GSM connectivity and support for tri-band UMTS (850 / 1900 / 2100 MHz) frequencies. Moreover, the device should include WiFi (802.11b/g) capabilities, as well as Bluetooth 2.0, in addition to the USB 2.0 connectivity (via a microUSB port, most probably).

Other specifications of the newly spotted Motorola Android device include a 3.5mm headset jack, along with built-in A-GPS receiver. While a photo snapper is certainly present on the handset's back, as can be seen in the image attached to this article, no specific details on it emerged for the time being, it seems. We should also mention that no info on the Android version it runs under is available either, yet UnwiredView notes that Froyo seems out of the question, given the available image with the phone.

Another piece of information that emerged from the Blutooth SIG is that the handset might land on the market as the Motorola Greco. Moreover, given the handset vendor's history with devices like XT701 and XT800, there are great chances the new Motorola XT502 might land on the market in China, though its appearance on other markets around the world is not out of the question (it packs support for European and North American 3G bands).

Jangan salahkan distributor Motorola di sini, perhitungan mereka sdh pasti soal potensi jumlah unit yg terjual vs total biaya (pajak, service & maintenance, dsb), mereka kan perusahaan yg cari untung juga, dan bukan yayasan sosial.

Kalau anda merasa Motorola Dext dan BackFlip bakalan laku keras di sini, kenapa tidak import sendiri dan pasarkan sendiri (spt BB yg banyak parallel-import) ? Kan bakalan untung besar ?
Kalau tidak ada modal, kan bisa minta tolong sama "pengusaha besar perkapalan" yg juga fans besar Motorola ?

Motorola Droid is most popular Android device

According to a new metrics report from mobile advertising giant AdMob, the Motorola Droid is the most popular Android device, followed by the HTC Hero.

It is important to note that the data is based on 12.7 million Android phones as of May 31st. The MyTouch 3G Slide and HTC EVO 4G were released in early June and are therefore not included.

The Droid, which launched last November, has 22 percent market share, with the Hero having 16 percent. Rounding out the top 5 are the HTC Magic, Dream (G1) and Droid Eris, each with between 8-10 percent share. Google's flagship Nexus One has just 2 percent share.

Next month, the metrics report is expected to show the HTC EVO 4G creeping into the top 5, given extremely high sales in its first month.

Currently, Motorola and HTC control 83 percent of the hardware market, and both companies have already promised a plethora of new devices for the rest of the year.

Sure, Motorola DROID looks cool at a glance but the above video has revealed some imperfections in its design. PhoneDog has discovered that Motorola DROID’s sliding mechanism (to help users access the QWERTY keyboard) has no spring-assistance and it takes some effort to slide open the keyboard. If that is not enough to disappoint you, PhoneDog even discovered that Motorola DROID’s slider is wobbly!

2. Motorola DROID’s 5-megapixel camera takes forever to start up

Sure, the specs say that Motorola DROID has a 5-megapixel camera, giving you more megapixels than iPhone 3GS. But what’s the point of having a camera when it takes forever to start up? (It’s all there in the above video)

3. Motorola DROID is buggy and sluggish

Motorola proudly announced that their new Motorola DROID is the world’s first Android 2.0-powered smartphone.

Cool! But hey! What’s up with the sluggish performance?

You can see from the above video that PhoneDog experienced some problems accessing Motorola DROID’s 5-megapixel camera. In the end, the application that gave him problems went crashing!

This is totally unacceptable for a brand new smartphone that comes from a well known manufacturer.

Motorola Charm In The Wild, Material Arriving In Stores?

Well, look what we have here. It’s the very first image of the Motorola Basil/Charm in the wild! Sent via pony express, our source was able to get a small hands-on last week with the device and came away with one interesting worthy note, the inclusion of a similar touchpad-like feature on the back of the device ala the Backflip on AT&T. Not much else was gained from this hands-on, specifically the version of Android it’s running. However, they did state the screen was somewhere in the neighborhood of 3 inches.

Also of note judging by the picture below is that a number of T-Mobile retail stores have started receiving Motorola “Basil” material called the “Motorola Basil Project.” T-Mobile has a love affair with calling its upcoming launches “Project.” Oh well, it’s still pegged for a late July release and we’re hoping to hear more news of this device being included in T-Mobile’s back to school sale.
