1. Mulai tahun 2010, OS proprietary akan dikurangi dan Open OS akan diperbanyak

3. Mulai tahun 2010 semua(?) handphone SE akan berupa touchscreen

unlikely. penafsiran gw: mulai 2010, Java Platform (proprietary SE) akan support touchscreen. Selama ini kan JP8 ke bawah gak support touchscreen dna layar mentok di QVGA (kecuali Z558, lupakan!). Menurut gw ini make sense, mid-end touch dengan JP, high-end dengan open OS. Dan kesuksesan duo Korea dalam best-selling affordable touch mau gak mau bikin SE terjun ke sini juga. Tapi kok nunggu 2010 ya?? Nunggu JP9 mateng kali ya.

Abis di gambar itu kok kesannya semua touchscreen ya pas tahun 2010, baik di Open OS maupun di OSE, cuma bedanya Open OS ada QWERTY nya.
Tapi ya gak makes sense juga kalo semua touchscreen.
Diperbanyak touchscreen memang lebih masuk akal.

Mustinya SE sadar kalo pangsa pasar negara berkembang lebih tinggi daripada negara maju.
Dan di negara2 berkembang yg laku kebanyakan adalah hp2 low end.
Kalo SE bener2 serius di pasar low end, pasti gak bakal rugi kayak sekarang.
SE cuma fokus di mid end sih.
Kalo high end kayaknya susah, secara ada trend BB.

gw pernah baca di suatu koran yg isinya kira2 gini:
rata-rata orang membeli/mengganti HP low end nya kira-kira setiap 12 bulan...
rata-rata orang membeli/mengganti HP middle end nya kira-kira setiap 9 bulan...
rata-rata orang membeli/mengganti HP high end nya kira-kira setiap 6 bulan...
bener gak yah pernyataan2 ini? tanya dirimu sendiri...

Tapi, pemakai hp high end itu jumlahnya berapa persen dari jumlah penduduk Indonesia?
Mid-end berapa?
Low-end berapa?
Emang sih 6 bulan sekali ganti, tapi kalo jumlah penggunanya cuma 10 %, sedangkan low end 50%, untungan yg mana coba?

ternyata 2009/2010 menjadi masa yang sangat penting bagi produsen-produsen yang ada di ambang kejatuhan, maka dari itu menarik untuk disaksikan.

btw, bener ga sih kalo OS yang akan dipake Idou dan hape2 SF mula-mula lainnya itu sama dengan S60 v.5 (alias OSnya 5800 dan N97).

Sony Ericsson will increase share with new strategy based on revenue not volume

Financial Times

Sony Ericsson’s president was confident last week that the company would be in the top three manufactures by 2011, thanks to its smartphone strategy.

Sony Ericsson’s president, Hideki (Dick) Komiyama, said the company will compete by increasing its annual share of the total revenue - rather than volume of handsets sold - with new smartphones.

The strategy marks a change of heart for Komiyama who said in January 2008 that Sony Ericsson would raise share based on volume.

Komiyama said the failure of the company to develop a smartphone resulted in a repetitive string of mid-tier mobile phones with similar specs.

The manufacturer will release at least two smartphones by the end of this year, and a third early in 2010.

Komiyama added: ‘If we do not adapt to this new technology or new market environment, we’re going to lose.’

M-R , not really following Symbian since the death of UIQ.

Sony has announced the development of a "coin-sized" high definition camera module.

Designed for use in security and industry, the 8.3-megapixel effort is smaller than a £1coin measuring in at 9.5 x 7.1mm.

The "MCB1172" from Sony Europe's Image Sensing Solutions Division is capable of delivering 720p, 30fps video and includes movie stabilisation, face detection, autofocus and motion autofocus.

There's also a high sensitivity mode and a slow-mo function, delivering 120fps as well as the option of 16x zoom.

Now available for mass production, products with the module in will likely hit the business markets later this year.

Sony Ericsson’s Social Networking Vision

During the last few months we’ve seen the introduction of various location and context aware services for our mobile devices.

Nokia Friend View and Google Latitude, that allows to broadcast your location to friends probably received the most of the buzz.

But things are only just starting now and this personal info and status broadcast should see a lot of interesting developments pretty soon.

Case in point – the new service described in Sony Ericsson patent application called “Virtual world avatar activity governed by real persons life activity”.

It envisions a small mobile app on your phone, called “Activity tracker”, that will monitor your activities on the phone and various sensors in it, and broadcast this info to a virtual world service, where the info on your avatar will be updated to reflect your current status.

• Sitting in a restaurant, watching a movie at a Cineplex or relaxing at the beach? Your phone’s GPS sensor sends the coordinates to the service, which checks your movement patterns within last half an hour, queries the mapping database, deduces what your are up to, and updates your avatar accordingly.

• Talking to a friend on the phone? The activity tracker knows this and shows your’s and your friend’s avatars in a virtual world as talking to each other.

• Just bought something and paid for it with your handset? Your avatar shows you carrying this thing out of the shop.

• Taking a picture or shooting a video with your phone? The new icons to these items appear next to your avatar as soon as you are done.

To tell the truth, it sounds rather scary, very big brotherish, and prone to abuse.

On the other hand, done smart, with carefull consideration of privacy issues, this might be quite an interesting thing to have. Especially integrated with the likes of Facebook, MySpace and other social networks.

Sony Ericsson is preparing to launch Google phones running on Android 2.0 operating system (OS), according to Peter Ang, vice president of marketing, Asia Pacific at Sony Ericsson.

The Android 2.0 will have more multimedia support that the previous Android OS, Ang explained.

With regards to market rumors speculating that Sony Ericsson may reduce the number of operating systems for its handsets, Ang stated that Sony Ericsson currently will continue to roll out models supporting Symbian and Windows Mobile in addition to Android.

Sony Ericsson launched five handsets, the W995, C903, C901, T707 and W508, in the Taiwan market on May 21. The 8.1-megapixel W995 multimedia handset supports 3.5G, Wi-Fi and AGPS standards.

Sony Ericsson to announce Eco Phones on 4th of June

Some time ago Sony Ericsson said they would learn from the development of their GreenHeart concept mobile phone in future devices, and now according to a report on cellpassion, Sony Ericsson has stated they will announce mobile handsets on the 4th of June.

This means that Sony Ericsson will be announcing a few greener handsets on the 4th which will probably have charger that waste very little power, eco-friendly housing, electronic manuals, super efficient green packaging and no doubt other tech.

The announcement is expected at 1:00PM UK time via webcast on Thursday when we will find out what Sony Ericsson has in store.

Kicking off on June 4th 2009, Sony Ericsson's new Pocket TV weekly music and entertainment show will start a 13-week series. The made for mobile sow can be watched on any mobile handset or online via a dedicated YouTube channel.

Sony Ericsson's Pocket TV will be hosted by hot new talent Matt Edmondson, with help from a number of roving reporters. Shows will feature irreverent, humorous and enlightening interviews with artists and bands, live sessions as well as behind the scenes features.

The line-up for episode one includes Brit Award winner Florence and the Machine back at art college, MOBO award winning number one hip hop group N-Dubz being grilled up close, and much hyped American vegans Hockey will be performing an acoustic set in a greasy spoon café in front of the locals.

Subsequent shows are set to feature appearances from the likes of Mika, The Gossip, Maximo Park, Jordin Sparks and Marilyn Manson, to name but a few.

As well as music, Sony Ericsson’s Pocket TV will cover entertainment and youth culture, whether it’s comedy, fashion or film - but with its own unique point of view.

The show will also feature contributions from Citizen Journalists, handpicked from video entries posted by viewers on the YouTube channel. Sony Ericsson’s Pocket TV will be free to download each week in five 90-second segments, to any handset through a dedicated WAP site ([tautan dihapus]). Pada bulan Februari lalu, Sony Ericsson (bersama sekitar 16 perusahaan lain kalo gak salah) sudah menandatangani kesepekatan penggunaan universal charger, jadi tunggu aja tanggal mainnya, nantinya SE pasti akan meninggalkan fastport untuk beralih ke USB charger.

Satio layar sama2 3.5" loh.. Tapi mungkin tombol di bawah layar lebih dikit ga seperti vulcan..
Btw kemaren TG1 yang keluaran Toshiba layarnya juga gede tuh.. Lebih gede dari vulcan kalo ga salah.. Komennya di gsmarena jadi ga gitu ergonomis, harus dipegang dengan 2 tangan ga bisa sebelah tangan..

Wearing a floor-length green dress, Hilton told reporters in Dubai yesterday that the 22 female contestants in the Middle Eastern version of “My New BFF” won’t be requested to pole-dance because Dubai is “much classier than Las Vegas,” where a previous series was filmed.

“That was Las Vegas and that will stay in Las Vegas. I will not make the girls do anything like that because I respect the culture here,” Hilton, 28, said at a news conference at the Intercontinental Hotel in Dubai.

Hilton is on her first visit to the Middle East as she targets the region as a new market for her brand. Dubai, one of seven sheikhdoms in the United Arab Emirates, has become the region’s most cosmopolitan city as it built offices and hotels to attract global companies such as Goldman Sachs and Halliburton Co.

She was given five Sony Ericsson handsets, Hilton said.

“One is even like a watch with a phone on it and it’s so cool,” she said. “So I’m switching my BlackBerry to Sony Ericcson today. Sorry BlackBerry, I’m now a Sony Ericcson user and very excited.”

Following an infamous appearance in a sex tape posted on the Internet, Hilton’s career as a celebrity has included acting, singing, clothing lines and a perfume.

Hilton may also spend some time looking at property while in Dubai, she said.

Tennis ace Sharapova unveils blinking phone dress

LONDON - Former Wimbledon champion Maria Sharapova presented a prototype dress to reporters that is designed to light up when the wearer's mobile telephone rings.

British fashion student Georgie Davies dreamed up the knee-length short-sleeved white dress as part of a school project with mobile phone-maker Sony Ericsson to figure out ways of incorporating new technology into fashion.

Davies said the dress is designed to eventually be connected to the wearer's phone by Bluetooth wireless technology, so she can be alerted to a call even in noisiest of places.

"When you're in a pub or a bar, you can never, ever hear your phone," 20-year-old Davies told Reuters on Wednesday.

One shoulder of the dress down to the hip is embellished with translucent white scales that move and light up.

Sharapova showed off the dress to a gaggle of photographers and a crowd of passers-by from the window of a luxury department store in central London.

Sony Ericsson patented a mobile phone in the form of bracelets

Among the documents the U.S. Patent Office has found the application of Sony Ericsson, describes a mobile phone as a bracelet. The apparatus, respectively, to be worn on the hand, it is equipped with a display and buttons are located on a semi bracelets on both sides of the screen. It should be noted that mobile phones, which can be worn on the hand, but the market has already been submitted, including, for example, a clock-mobile LG GD910.

It is not clear whether Sony Ericsson to establish on the basis of this idea, a commercial product. Perhaps, if the phone-bracelet all the same to be released, he will go down in a series of Essence. Telecom firms back standard phone charger in Europe

BRUSSELS (Reuters) -

Top mobile telephone suppliers have agreed to back an EU-wide harmonization of phone chargers, the European Commission said on Monday, hailing the pact as good news for consumers and the environment.

The agreement by Nokia, Sony Ericsson and other industry majors will mean phones compatible with standard charging devices are available in Europe from next year, said the EU executive, which has pushed for such a deal.

"People will not have to throw away their charger whenever they buy a new phone," said EU Industry Commissioner Guenter Verheugen, estimating that unwanted phone accessories accounted for thousands of tons of waste in Europe each year.

The Commission said the agreement would involve the creation of an EU norm, and that the new generation of mobile phones would use a standard micro-USB socket to ensure compatibility.

There are an estimated 400 million mobile phones in Europe, with 185 million bought each year.

The chargers will be usable only for data-enabled phones, which have more capability than just standard calls and SMS texts. Data-enabled phones are expected to account for almost half of all new mobile handset purchases in 2010.

The Commission hopes that as people discard their old handsets, within three to four years all data-enabled phones in Europe will be using standardized chargers.

New data-enabled phones will come with a standardized charger but after an unspecified time the two items will be sold separately, industry group DigitalEurope said.

The director of DigitalEurope, Bridget Cosgrave, said the price of such chargers had not yet been determined.

Motorola, Apple, LG, NEC, Qualcomm, Research in Motion, Samsung and Texas Instruments have also signed the agreement, the Commission said.

The 10 companies involved control 90 percent of the European market.

The standardized chargers will be compatible only with European phones, but Verheugen said he hoped other countries would follow Europe's lead.

"We're assuming this new European initiative will have a knock-on effect globally and manufacturers won't just be doing this on the European market," Verheugen said.

Sony Ericsson’s business isn’t going that well. Sales are going down, regional offices are combined to one central office in one country and the amount of new products keen on changing the tide aren’t really introduced lately. However, two new devices have leaked via Mobil.nu; Kiki and Rachael. Interesting!

The first one is Kiki; a “purity product” if we listen to believe SE. The front surface has an unusual structure and just a few keys. The device has a rather new and distinctive design we have never seen before from Sony Ericsson. The display is made of glass on which the screen image is being projected. You will experience a sort of depth in the screen image.

Sony Ericsson “Rachael” is the second device and the first Android-based mobile phone from the Japanese-Swedish joint venture. The phone is expected to be announced later this year and will be part of Sony Ericsson’s series of XPERIA products.

The phone is based on the Qualcomm QSD8250 Snapdragon platform, that enables processor speeds up to 1GHz, and HSDPA-speeds up to 7.2 Mbps. This platform also supports 3D graphics capabilities. The phone packs a built-in 8.1 megapixel camera with autofocus, LED flash and video recording, a 3.5 mm jack connector as well as a mini-USB connector at the top of the phone. The touchscreen seems to be quite large, but as of yet there is no specific information about its size.

Sony Ericsson Siapkan Ponsel Android 'Terampuh'

Jakarta - Sony Ericsson dikabarkan akan meluncurkan Android Phone 'terampuh' di antara ponsel yang ada saat ini. Pasalnya ini adalah ponsel Android pertama, yang memiliki kamera sebesar 8,1 MP.

Seperti dikutip detikINET dari Pcworld, Senin (06/07/2009) ponsel misterius yang bakal hadir tersebut bernama Rachael. Berdasar informasi dari Danish Mobil magazine, ponsel Android milik SE tersebut dikabarkan hadir tahun ini. Ponsel tersebut akan menjadi bagian dari seri XPERIA, dan menggunakan model X1.

Menurut informasi dari mobil magazine, Rachael disebut memiliki kecepatan up to 1 Ghz dan 7,2 Mbit/second HSPA. Ponsel tersebut dilengkapi kamera 8,1 MP dengan autofokus dan flash, serta mini USB port.

Jika informasi tersebut benar, maka Rachael bakal menjadi ponsel Android yang memiliki kamera terampuh, yakni sebesar 8,1 MP. Pasalnya 'rekor' di ranah Android phone, selama ini dipegang oleh HTC Hero dan Samsung Galaxy dengan kamera sebesar 5 MP.

Pada audio, Rachael dilengkapi jack berukuran 3,5 mm. Sayang belum ada keterangan lebih lanjut terkait hal ini, bahkan mengenai informasi resolusi ponsel tersebut.

Lebih jauh lagi, mobil magazine menyebutkan ponsel tersebut bakal dilengkapi sensitive touchscreen. Rachael juga dilengkapi Google Android OS versi 2.0, yang juga bakal meluncur tahun ini. ( fw / faw )

Off topic: Entah info dari mana, di esato beredar rumor bahwa hape Nokia dengan kamera 12 MP akan menjadi hape kamera terbaik dalam hal kualitas photo, sama atau bahkan melebihi digital camera, diperkirakan akan lebih baik dari kualitas N82.

Dan feeling gw, entah siapapun nanti yang duluan dirilis, Nokia 12 MP ini akan mengalahkan Satio dalam hal kualitas photo. Kemungkinan ini sangat besar mengingat selama ini kualitas photo hape SE dengan lensa Sony selalu kalah dari beberapa Nokia, Samsung ataupun LG.

PS: lagi males juga sama SE, C901 gw mengalami 3 hal yang sangat aneh dalam waktu hampir bersamaan dalam sehari ini.

Menurut gue sih alasan kenapa SE terkesan "abis2an kampanye" sejak dini, buat naikin lagi antusiasme penggemarnya ke produk mereka. Jadi misalkan para penggemar itu lagi tertarik untuk beralih ke merk lain, minimal bisa ditahan dulu untuk ga beli produk lain. Karena mereka tahu, di beberapa periode sebelumnya, portfolio ponsel mereka udah cukup mengecewakan (minim ponsel "super").

Anyway, mengenai kualitas produknya itu sendiri... terutama Satio yang lagi jadi highlight.... yah kita lihat aja nanti hasilnya gimana. Kalo berasumsi dari sekarang juga rasanya kurang berguna... karena malah bikin kita semakin kecewa aja sama SE atas alasan2 yang mungkin belum terbukti (pada Satio maksud gue, bukan pada produk2 sebelumnya)...

Nah masalah sebenernya itu antara announcement dgn releasenya memiliki rentang waktu yg cukup panjang sehingga bisa disalip duluan sama merk lain dgn spesifikasi yg tdk berbeda jauh, otomatis ini sdh mempengaruhi pasar terlebih dahulu, dan bagi gadget freak yg gak berpegang pd 1 merk saja pasti akan memilih yg lebih dulu apalagi kl ternyata produk itu bagus, yach begitu SE direlease jadinya sdh gak jadi pilihan lagi.

betul, dgn iklan, kampanye abis2an bikin org (termasuk g) jadi stop/nahan dulu utk beli merk lain, cumaaaaa udah kelamaan dan udah kebiasaan....so sekarang org mikirnya...ah masih lama....., malah bikin pusing aja krn kepengan...jadi hasil-nya ya gak minat lagi or langsung beli merk lain

Yup, masalah keterlambatan emang sesuatu yang SE pusat musti perbaiki....

Kalo diliat dari segmennya, Satio itu bukan sebuah produk yang bakalan dibeli sama banyak orang. Jadi... kemungkinan fungsi utamanya ya buat nunjukin "superioritas" SE dalam ngebuat ponsel serba bisa (baik pada akhirnya berhasil ataupun gagal ya). Kalo berhasil ya bakalan jadi titik balik dari ketidakpercayaan user sekarang..

BTW, emang apa aja dari tiap merk yang berpotensi sebagai pesaing Satio ya ? Pixon12 ya yang terdekat releasenya ? Trus Nokia 12MP yang disebut2 di halaman sebelumnya ? Kalo dari LG (Louvre) kayaknya masih lama ya....

Gw jadi mikir gini, kinerja orang2 SE di Lund ato London tuh kayak gini:
1. Siang hari. Desainer kepikiran suatu ide. Dia bikin draft.
2. Sore hari. Desainer ngasih draft ke design manager-nya. Disetujui.
3. Besok pagi. Desain udah disetujui oleh bagian marketing strategy and planning.
4. Siangnya. Official image di-render.
5. Malemnya. Announcement. Barang blom ada.
6. Dua bulan kemudian. Proto pertama.
7. Enam bulan kemudian. Beta testing.
8. Seminggu kemudian. Produksi.
9. Tiga minggu kemudian. Shipping.

Jadi... jarak announcement sampe in stores kurang lebih 9 bulan. Lebay banget gak sih??

btw, Kiki itu nyasar segmen yg sama kayak 88xx yah? Sounds too dreamy.

Sony Ericsson places 2010 handset orders with Taiwan makers

Sony Ericsson has placed ODM handset orders for 2010 with Taiwan handset makers after the company released orders for only two models to its production partners in Taiwan in 2009, according to market sources in Taiwan.

Under the new production contracts, Sony Ericsson will have Arima Communications and Chi Mei Communication Systems (CMCS) produce at least two to three models, the sources indicated.

Although the new orders still call for the production of the entry-level models, it will be the first time for Sony Ericsson to release the W-series (Walkman) handsets to Taiwan makers, said the sources, noting that the previous cooperation focused on production of the J-, R-, T- and S-series.

Sony Ericsson may also release orders for touch-enabled EDGE handsets to Taiwan makers in the near future, the sources asserted.

Kalau memang bener rumor/infonya bahwa Rachael akan pake index X3, maka ada 3 kemungkinan untuk Kiki :

Expansys ([tautan dihapus] sebuah online store yang lumayan terkenal di UK beberapa saat lalu pernah memuat Sony Ericsson Rachael dalam daftar produknya dengan status coming soon dan juga bisa dipesan secara pre-order meskipun belum ada harganya. Link-nya: [tautan dihapus] Tapi link tersebut sekarang udah mati, kayanya udah didelete sama expansys (mungkin atas permintaan Sony Ericsson sendiri?)

Untungnya, beberapa situs sempat memuat berita tersebut, misalnya All About Phones, justamp blog, dan gsmarena.

Bahkan gsmarena memuat gambar pada saat Rachael masuk listing.

Di expansys tersebut ternyata Rachael disebut sebagai Xperia X3, bukan X5 seperti rumor sebelumnya. Awalnya X3 adalah nama untuk Kiki, jadi sekarang Kiki belum ketahuan akan diberi index apa.

Lebih banyak untungnya kok bro beli belakangan
- Harga lebih murah (udah turun)
- firmware udah stabil
- Udah banyak review2 dari pemakai sebelumnya, jadi kita bisa tau kelebihan dan kekurangannya (trus gak jadi beli deh begitu tau itu produk gagal )

Gak enaknya, kalo ternyata yang kita mo beli ternyata jadi best seller, stoknya suka nggak ada pas mo beli, belum lagi harganya jadi naik (tapi ini jarang kok...)

Kalo beli pas pertama keluar keuntungannya paling cuma jadi orang yang pertama pakai, bangga diliatin orang2, ya kalo nggak dapet produk yang masih banyak 'bug'-nya...

Pantesan SE dlu iklannya yours to create krn emg kt bsa menciptakan alias moding SE mcem2.dr tampilan,cam driver,flash,firmware.

Hee..heee..hee... masih setia ama Hermione,apalagi setelah Sakura telah "tiada"

Emang dalam beberapa kasus, build quality produksi awal lebih bagus dari produksi berikutnya. Contohnya : K750, W800, W900 lebih bagus produksi awalnya.
Tapi kebanyakan sih HP2 SE yang lain lebih bagus produksi berikutnya. Contoh : W850 yang produksi awalnya cacat di keypad (pasti retak setelah beberapa lama pemakaian), di produksi berikutnya udah diperbaiki dengan menambah plat penahan dibawah keypad.

Tapi untuk firmware pasti lebih bagus yang berikutnya. Mana pernah SE bikin HP produksi pertama bebas "bug"?

Dengan beberapa pengecualian lho... hehehe...
Contohnya : kualitas kamera K750 sama W800 di-downgrade...

Hee..heee..hee... iya juga....Untung kamera W900 dan P990 nggak ikut2an di downgrade juga, jadi masih bisa bersaing dengan seri K (atau seri C sekarang)

Bagi SE, mungkin Megabass W810 bukan didowngrade, tapi "disempurnakan" (Bass dikurangi, detail lebih jelas), disamakan dengan seri W yang keluar sesudahnya. Tapi bagi kita itu adalah downgrade (karena kekuatan bass-nya dikurangi)

Sony Ericsson developing Smartbook claims insider

Sony Ericsson are tipped to be working on a smartbook, a non-Intel ultraportable device that would bundle high-speed wireless connectivity, lengthy battery life and a compact keyboard and display. The news comes via NetbookNews, who have been talking to a “reliable Taiwanese source” connected to both existing smartbook developers and to upcoming manufacturers.

Details of the Sony Ericsson smartbook are unknown at present, including whether it will be built on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon platform as with ASUS’ Eee PC prototypes or an alternative chipset such as NVIDIA’s Tegra as used in the Mobinnova elan. Both use an ARM core with frugal graphics and connectivity, with smartbooks based on the chips promising battery life in excess of ten hours and always-on 3G WWAN.

Ironically, Sony’s VAIO P netbook seems already to have been an inspiration to smartbook designers, with Wistron creating a model strongly reminscent of the Atom-based ultraportable.

Due to the information we gathered during the last Computex Show in Taipei, ARM, Freescale and Qualcomm will agressively enter this market of mobile and affordable devices by the end of this year. With their record of building mobile- and smartphones, this could be one of the most interesting and anticipated new devices.

Right now we can’t tell you how this solution will look like but the Sony Vaio P has already inspired Elitegroup to build their ECS T800 Smartbook and so we are expecting something similar:

The retail package is said to be the best in terms of eco friendliness as were the build components of the phone itself. The emphasis seems to be that "feature-rich" and "green" can fit very comfortably in the description of one phone, no compromises necessary.

nama memang lebih mudah diingat dari angka
tapi nanti SE akan bingung membedakan nama utk seri high, seri mid, seri low.
paling 2 tahun lagi balik ke kombinasi angka lagi

Yang paling jadi masalah dengan pake nama itu adalah... kita "susah" tahunya seri tersebut merupakan lanjutan dari seri mana, seperti yang udah umum kita mengerti dari SE. Lain halnya dengan Samsung ato LG (terutama Samsung) yang keliatannya kurang jelas sistem penamaan seri-nya... (semua huruf dipake...)

Mudah2an internal namenya masih tetep mengadopsi "paradigma" tersebut. Jadi kalo nanti ada internal name U2 (hehehe), kita bisa kira2 kalo itu adalah lanjutannya Satio...

mungkin SE akan belajar dari kesalahan penamaan angka dimana utk seri suksesor, indeksnya naik, tapi improvementnya sedikit
karena kombinasi angka kan banyak....
lain halnya dengan nama huruf, SE harus benar2 konsen di inovasi kalo ingin menelurkan sebuah nama produk, biar label nama yg dikasih gak sia-sia

Jangan berasumsi bahwa huruf di depan internal name/code berarti sama dengan seri2 terdahulu pada SE karena hal itu sekarang sudah tidak berlaku lagi (atau SE sudah tidak konsisten lagi).
Contoh paling mutakhir :
- J105 untuk Naite berarti bahwa Naite masuk ke seri J (Junior)? Salah! Seri J dulu adalah untuk low end tanpa kamera!
- F100 untuk Jalou berarti bahwa Jalou masuk ke seri F (Fun&Game)? Salah! Jalou bukan gaming phone, dia kan cuma kotak bedak doang!

btw, Jalou is in the town. Seriously!

Vulcan itu udah resmi diumumkan sebagai X2, OS nya Windows Mobile.
Rachael - dengan OS Android 2.0 - itu dulu katanya bakal jadi X5 tapi karena Kiki ternyata gak pake index maka Rachael kemungkinan akan jadi X3.

X1 : Windows Mobile pertama dari SE
X2 : Windows Mobile (Windows Phone) kedua dari SE
---> Saat ini masih ada 1 lagi Windows Phone smartphone yang sedang dikembangkan oleh SE, tapi ada kemungkinan akan di-cancel seiring dengan akan dihentikannya produksi Windows Phone oleh SE.
