Sekilas, Nokia 8208 ini mirip dengan Nokia N96. Namun jangan salah sangka, karena yang ini tidak termasuk dalam jajaran Nokia N Series. Bisa jadi Nokia 8208 ini adalah ponsel pertama yang menggunakan form factor two-way slider yang tidak termasuk dalam N Series.

Ponsel CDMA dual band (800/1900 MHz) ini menggunakan layar 2,2 inci yang mampu menampilkan resolusi 240 x 320 pixel dan sudah dilengkapi dengan kamera 3 megapixel yang berada di bagian belakang dari ponsel ini.

Keypad ponsel ini terletak di bagian dalam dan harus digeser keluar terlebih dahulu untuk menggunakannya. Walaupun ada slide form factor namun Nokia 8208 ini tampaknya tak terlalu besar ukurannya. Dengan dimensi 101 x 45.2 x 15.9 mm dan bobot sekitar 126 gram Nokia 8208 ini tak terlalu besar atau berat untuk digenggam.

Fitur lain dari ponsel ini adalah multimedia player, FM radio, bluetooth, microUSB, dan slot microSD/microSDHC untuk mendukung built-in memory-nya yang hanya berkapasitas 150MB. Nokia 8208 is a high-class CDMA/EV-DO Rev. A phone in dual-slider form-factor: it slides as any other phone to reveal a numeric keypad and in the opposite direction, for multimedia buttons. 8208 features 2.2-inches QVGA display with up to 16 million colors, 3-megapixel camera and 3.5mm jack.

Other features of the 8208 include a 2.2" QVGA resolution display and a microSD memory card slot that can support cards as large as 8GB in capacity. There is an FM radio built-in, and the 8208 also sports a micro-USB connector. The phone is rated for up to 11 days of standby time or up to 4 hours of talk time.

The Nokia website where we found the information lists the 8208 as running "Nokia Series 40 spec" as its user interface. Considering that the 3608, found on the same site, lists itself as having a Series 40 "like" UI, we suspect that this isn't the normal S40 we have seen on other Nokia cell phones.

No word on when the 8208 will be officially announced, or when it will actually be available.
