The new Sony Ericsson W350 puts music on top with a combination of favourite Walkman® features and a unique flip design

Las Vegas, USA – 6th January 2008 – Sony Ericsson today announced the launch of the W350, a Walkman® phone that offers the perfect blend of style and function. Featuring for the first time from Sony Ericsson a flip phone that allows you to control your music at your fingertips, it offers a winning combination of ease of use, style and convenience. This latest addition to the Walkman® phone family can be used with the new Bluetooth™ Headset HBH-DS205, also announced today, for the ultimate hands-free music experience.

A style statement

You’ll draw admiring glances when you take the W350 out of your pocket or bag. At just 10 mm thin, it is sleek enough to fit comfortably with no bulges into your pocket or purse. Its unique flip covers the keypad for a minimalist look. Available in trendy colours including Electric Black with orange accents, the phone is a classy yet modern statement that is never out of place whether at a music gig or a football match.

True Walkman® player experience

The W350’s Walkman® player can easily be accessed and operated even without opening its flip cover. With Walkman® on Top, key MP3 functions including Play, Pause and Scroll are outside the phone’s flip cover so you can use it just like you would a standalone MP3 player.

The W350 makes it straightforward to transfer music onto your phone. Whether your favourite tracks are on a CD or on your computer, all you need to do with the phone’s intuitive Media Manager software is drag your tracks from your computer onto your phone via a USB cable. You can store up to 470 tracks 1)* or 40 entire albums1)* and, once your music is onto your phone, it’s also easy to navigate around it with the Walkman® player.

Never miss a beat

You’re at the bar, and a song plays that you used to love... but you just can’t place it! Sounds familiar? We’ve all experienced this, and thanks to TrackID TM, it need never happen again. Just record a few seconds of the song into the phone’s microphone (or tag it from the built-in radio) and use TrackIDTM to identify it. The phone provides you with the name of the song, the artist, and even the album so that you can download it and enjoy it again and again.

Stay tuned without wires

You don’t need to hold the phone in your hand to get the best out of the W350. With the Bluetooth™ Headset HBH-DS205, you can stream the music on your phone wirelessly to your ears! Your phone can be in your bag and you can still listen to the music, see which song is playing and take calls.

The W350i is an EDGE 900/1800/1900 phone that will be available in selected markets from Q2 2008. The W350a is an EGDE 850/1800/1900 phone for the Americas that will also be available from Q2 2008.

The Bluetooth™ Headset HBH-DS205 will come in grey and will be available in selected markets from Q2 2008.

Betul sekali. SE emang jagoan deh dalam hal design seperti ini.
Bayangin aja, sebelumnya Samsung udah pernah mencoba bikin hape yang tampilannya kaya MP3 Player, lupa typenya, yang jelas ada 2 design :
- Model clamshell yang ramping ---> mengorbankan layout keypad jadi 2x5 ---> gak sukses kayanya
- Model dual-face ---> yang ini malah lebih aneh, bagian telepon dikasih layar yang super mini sedangkan sisi MP3 Player layarnya lebar ---> amit2

Dan ternyata SE bikin design W350 dengan sangat "sederhana" : flip model erisson cuman ditambahi tombol2 di depannya. Brilliant.

Ada sayangnya tapi.... : kenapa design secantik ini gak dikasih spec tinggi sekalian?

yg 2x5 itu swivel. emang aneh. ada 1 lagi yg mirip ini tapi uda balek ke 3x4. lupa tipenya juga. bentuknya mirip mp3 player kecil

BenQ-Siemens pernah mengeluarkan hp semacam ini sebelumnya, EF51.

yup emang pernah. tapi design dan permainan warnanya ga semanis W350 ini ingat lho, untuk design HP ada 3 faktor yg berpengaruh: bahan, warna, dan designnya sendiri

btw, hape Bensin (benq siemens ) yang dimaksud adalah EF51

Ya udah sekalian aja "diaduin" di sini, silakan judge sendiri mana yang design-nya paling cantik.

Oya, sekalian aja nih nambahin : karena Bensin EF51 berwarna putih, maka head to head dengan W350 nya juga dengan warna "baru" W350 (baru muncul nih, kemarin gak ada) : GRAPHIC WHITE

Wah Graphic White jd cadangan nih klo gak dpt Ice Blue(kayak hp nya dah launch aj).
Apa ini penerus dr W300 yg flip Clamshell? mungkin spek sengaja nggak dikasih tinggi krn sesuai dg tipe seri W3xx yg seblmnya pake VGA interpolate 1,3Mpx(W300) dan juga buat ngeramein pasar mid end biar enak bersaingnya dg ponsel2 yg sekelas,atau biar hrg jual bisa lbh murah jd byk yg beli...hehehe. Mau..mau...

Kalo menurut gw sih urutan "penerus"-nya kaya gini :
W200 ---> W350 (Candybar ---> Candybar+Flip)
W300 ---> W380 (Clamshell ---> Clamshell)

Emang keren nih, pasti sukses kaya W200.

Banding sama BenqSiemens diatas, W350 jauh lebih elegan banget deh.

dibanding EF51 emang lebih panjang kan? 89: 104 mm. W380, clamshell laen cuma 92 mm.

dibandingkan yang udah ada: Z610: 94,5 mm. emang W350 yang panjang

Makanya kan seperti gw bilang di atas : W350 = penerus W200, dari candybar ke candybar + flip.
Flip phone tidak sama dengan clamshell phone lho...
Kalo flip-nya dilepas, flip phone akan jadi candybar. Lain halnya clamshell kalo salah satu bagian dilepas jadi gak sempurna deh, 1/2 handphone gitu.
Atau gini aja : W350 flipnya dibuka sama clamshell (misal Z610, W300, dll.) dibuka, total panjangnya mana yang lebih panjang?

Mungkin gak ya nantinya SE bikin design flip ini dengan spec lebih tinggi?

di gsmarena sendiri pake istilah flip up- flip down. flip up = clamshell secara umum. flip down = kayak EF51, T28, W350 ini. di "balik" ke bawah (ga tau istilahnya apa yg tepat mengingat clamshell/cangkang kerang emang umumnya dibuka keatas)

Layarnya 128x160? Kalo diliat kayaknya hampir sama dgn w380 ya? Padahal w380 176x220? Trus kayaknya seri w380 masih juga masih pake versi theme yang 4.1 kayak jamannya k750 ampe w810.. bukan versi 4.5 kayak w710 ke sini.. Perhatiin aja jenis fontnya..
