Best smartphone: AT&T Tilt

We're talking Windows Mobile 6, every wireless option imaginable (Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.0, UMTS/HSDPA), a built-in GPS radio, multimedia capabilities galore, and a 3-megapixel camera. At $300 with a two-year contract, it's also a great buy for what it delivers.

Best starter smartphone: Palm Centro (Sprint)
If you can do without Wi-Fi and the bulky size of the Palm Treo, you just may want to look into the Palm Centro. With push e-mail, EV-DO support, and a bright red frame, there's certainly a bit to get excited about for first-time smartphone buyers. And at $99 with a two-year contract, it's a darn good bargain.

Best 3G phone: LG Voyager - VX10000 (Verizon Wireless)
There's no flash for the camera, and it has no Wi-Fi, but LG's new multimedia phone is packed to the hilt with pretty much everything else. We're talking EV-DO, live shows via V Cast Mobile TV, a colorful touch screen, a full keyboard, a 2-megapixel camera, and streaming music from the V Cast store. This uberphone is an Editors' Choice winner.

Best camera phone: Nokia N95
Part of Nokia's stellar N series of "multimedia computers," the Nokia N95 is so much more than just a camera phone. As if its 5-megapixel camera wasn't enough, it's also equipped with editing software for both still images and video. Alas, the $699 price tag for this unlocked phone is enough to scare many potential buyers away, but the integrated GPS, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth capabilities may make you consider it anyway.

Best music phone: Apple iPhone (AT&T)
Hey, remember this phone? It got a little bit of media coverage. Apple's first foray into the cell-phone world put touch-screen handsets on the map, and better yet, it was Apple's best iPod to date (until the iPod Touch came out a few months later). Apple's touch-screen, Wi-Fi-enabled, iTunes-over-the-air handset is our editors' pick for the best music phone of the year.

Most improved phone: Moto Razr2 V9
Can a sequel really be better than the original? When it comes to technology, it better be, and the second-generation Motorola Razr really delivers the goods. Kalo buat gw pribadi, khusus untuk handphone, gw menilai suka atau tidak suka, bagus atau jelek, memang --- terus terang dan ini memang cara gw dalam menilai semua handphone --- pertama kali berawal dari design atau penampilan luar.
Gw mau beli suatu handphone pertama kali yang gw lihat adalah penampilan fisiknya --- gw suka atau tidak.
Kalau dari first sight physical gw suka baru gw telusuri fiturnya oke atau gak.
Karena gw pengen memiliki sesuatu secara menyeluruh.
Handphone adalah sesuatu yang gw pegang setiap saat : kalau penampilan fisiknya saja udah bikin gw muak, mana mau gw megang tu hape.

Jangankan begitu : handphone bagus pun --- yang pernah ada di gw --- jika ada setitik saja cacat, semisal --- yang pernah gw alamin --- logo Walkman yang kurang sempurna, ada casing sedikit terkelupas --- langsung tu handphone gak mau gw pake lagi. Itu hanya ada "cacat" sedikit. Apalagi kalau "cacat"-nya menyeluruh, dalam arti secara keseluruhan gw gak suka sama design-nya.

Trus kenapa hadphone2 di atas gw bilang "the worse"? Ya karena secara keseluruhan menurut gw gak bagus. Ini pendapat pribadi gw yang gw share di sini.
Gw gak peduli ada award2 di luaran sana --- yang sering kali dimenangkan oleh itu2 saja, bosen dan gak ngaruh ke gw --- memangnya beli handphone harus nunggu award dulu?

Worse Value Phone (non-smartphone) : Motorola RAZR V8 ---> Harganya kemahalan! Yang lain di harga lebih murah dari ini udah dapet HSDPA!

Worse Fashion Phone : Motorola RAZR V9 ---> Fashion : cukup dilihat dari design saja, rata2 hape fashion secara fitur gak pernah sampai level paling top. MOBILE GAZETTE juga menilai V9 sebagai The Worse.

Worse Design Phone : Motorola RAZR2 Series (All) ---> Menurut gw iya karena memang gw sama sekali gak suka sama design Motorola yang manapun. Lebih ekstrem lagi --- sorry, gw terus terang --- gw gak suka sama Motorola. Sorry banget....

TheRealOne selera rendahan. Yach iyalah buat orang yang selera rendahan tuch "Motorola Razr 2 V8" kemahalan.

Hahaha... "MOBILE GAZETTE" di percaya. Memang selera rendahan, percaya sama website yang kagak jelas. Siapa kagak kenal "GSMA"; semua merk handphone ternama berusaha untuk mendapatkan award dari "GSMA". Siapa kagak kenal "CNET"; semua elektronik berusahaan memuat penilaian dari "CNET" di dalam dus produksi mereka. Siapa kagak kenal "CES". Susah ngomong sama orang yang punya selera rendahan.

Semua design "Sony Ericsson" sama semua; gue lihat aja kagak mau apa lagi pegang. Iya sich "Sony Ericsson" buat orang yang selera design yang rendahan dan qualitas rendahan. Hahaha... Loe harus tau "Motorola Razr 2" (Motorola Razr 2 V8 dan Motorola Razr 2 V9) dikategorikan sebagai Iconic / Fashion Phone. "Sony Ericsson Fashion Phone" yang paling murah berapa?

Kagak ngaca tuch "Sony Ericsson" semua designnya mirip banget. Handphone "Sony Ericsson" type apa yang sudah terjual 100 juta unit dalam waktu 3 tahun. Handphone "Motorola V3 Razr" sudah terjual lebih dari 100 juta unit dalam waktu 3 tahun.

Yang kasih pendapat juga harus ada dasarnya, jangan asal seenak jidatnya mengada-ada. Apa memang rata-rata "SE Fan's" suka mengada-ngada yach? Hahaha...

Contoh: Beberapa saat yang lalu ada yang ngaku-ngaku "ESATO" (Sony Ericsson Forum) sebagai asal sumber rumour handphone Motorola tapi fakta berbicara bahwa "ESATO" bukanlah asal sumber rumour handphone Motorola. Akhirnya orang tersebut terusir dari "Motorola Forum".

Gue akan terima pendapat dari merk lain kalo memang ada faktanya. Tapi kalo cuma ngomong doang dari jidatnya / mengada-ngada akan gue lawan karena gue ada fakta. Dan jangan percaya sama website yang kagak ada namanya / kagak terkenal.
