First pic of 5 MP Motorola

Here is the first pic that gives us a sneak preview of the new Motorola 5 mega pixel phone with Kodak...can't wait to see more.

lucu juga liat thread ini..lebih seru komen nya drpd ngebahas barangnya.........

sy pikir bagus jeleknya suatu brg ya tergantung penilaian masing2, jd ga perlu sampe ngoto2an spt itu..namanya juga usaha, MOTOROLA dgn kodak..mungkin ini bisa memacu SE atopun NOKIA utk membuat HP yg lebih baik lg..Ya, persaingan yg sehatlah..

sy sich suka semua merk hp, jd ga tergantung ama tipe tertentu apalagi sampe maniak....Bener kt tmn2, tunggu brgnya rilis dulu baru dibandingin..apa perlu diadain tes lgsung? jd masing2 bawa hp nya trus tes di tempat, waktu dan settingan yg sama trus diupload di sini biar smua pada tau hasilnya kek gimana..biar hasil yg berbicara..

Hahaha... Barang sudah pasti sudah ada tetapi belum di jual untuk umum. Barang masih menggunakan engineering version / bukan final firmware. Motorola ZN5 sudah di miliki oleh beberapa website yang membuat preview-preview dan perbandingan-perbandingan antara Motorola ZN5 vs Nokia N82 vs Nokia N95 vs Sony Ericsson K850. Apa lagi website-website yang memberikan preview-preview dan perbandingan merupakan website yang ternama seperti mobile review dan masih banyak lagi. Masing-masing website memberikan perbandingan dengan photo-photo yang berbeda namun dengan 1 hasil yaitu Motorola ZN5 terbaik di antara Nokia N82, Nokia N95 dan Sony Ericsson K850. Gue kagak percaya kalo mereka sembarangan memberikan keputusan hasil perbandingan karena mereka juga mempertaruhkan nama baik website masing-masing.; apa lagi dari 4 website yang ternama yang memberikan perbandingan photo yang berbeda-beda dan hasilnya tetap Motorola ZN5 yang terbaik.

Kalo mau tunggu barang sudah berada dipasaran maka itu namanya review dan hanya sebagai konfirmasi saja tentang pembenaran dari preview-preview. Sama hal contohnya Motorola Rokr E8 pada saat preview-preview dengan review-reviewnya.

Jadi kalo mau bandingkan sendiri yach silahkan minta kepada website-website yang sudah memberikan review-review dan perbandingan. Gue lebih percaya mereka dibandingkan orang-orang di sini lebih buta seperti Sony Ericsson Fans / Sony Ericsson Fanatics dan Nokia Fans / Nokia Fanatic yang tidak akan pernah mau mengakui kekalahannya.

Untuk Sony Ericsson Fans; jangan buat keributan di Motorola Forum. Lihat apa yang sedang terjadi pada Sony Ericsson sekarang ini. Sony Ericsson sedang mengalami penurunan keuntungan; sama halnya Motorola. Diperkirakan Sony Ericsson tetap mengalami penurunan keuntungan sampai akhir tahun 2008 atau bahkan berlanjut sampai tahun berikutnya; harapan Sony Ericsson hanya kepada Sony Ericsson XPeria X1 dan Sony Ericsson C905; kalo tidak berhasil maka Sony Ericsson akan lebih parah lagi. Salah satu sebab penurunan keuntungan Sony Ericsson yaitu design Sony Ericsson Walkman yang begitu-begitu saja.

Selain itu Sony Electronic juga mengalami hal yang sama yaitu mengalami penurunan keuntungan; termasuk penjualan Sony Cybershot yang sering dibanggakan juga mengalami penurunan penjualan; Sony Electronic juga mengalami penurunan peringkat dan di atas Sony Electronic yaitu Samsung. Selain itu kerugian yang di derita Sony berlanjut pada Sony Playstation 3 dari awal berada dipasaran sampai sekarang sudah mengalami kerugian USD 3,3 Million.

oh iyah... hmmm kalo nga salah kan sebelom di rilis (produk contoh) nya udah di test ama 8 fotografer dari berbeda beda negara dengan objek 24jam...

Betul sekali, sama seperti pada Motorola ZN5 Commercial Video di You Tube. Ada 8 negara, 8 kota dan 8 photographer.

Haha... Sudah banyak website yang memberikan perbandingan foto antara Motorola ZN5 vs Nokia N82 vs Nokia N95 vs Sony Ericsson K850 dengan hasil yang sama yaitu Motorola ZN5 yang paling bagus. Photographer Professional aja sudah bilang bagus lalu kenapa minta penilai yang Amatir. Hahaha...

Di sini pada ngotot karena di Indonesia tuch Brand Minded. Pengguna Sony Ericsson Fans dan Nokia Fans tentu saja tidak akan mengakuinya.

Motorola to fall to fifth place in 2Q handset ranking

Shipments of handsets from Motorola in the second quarter of this year might lag behind those from LG Electronics and Sony Ericsson, which will push down the global ranking of the US handset vendor to the fifth place, according to sources in the Taiwan handset industry.

The sources cited the latest estimates from market research firms as indicating that Motorola's handset shipments will top only 22-23 million units in the second quarter, as compared to 28.1 million and 24 million units projected for LG and Sony Ericsson, respectively.

For the first half of this year, Motorola will manage to retain its global fourth place ranking with handset shipments totaling about 50 million units, falling short of the 52 million units projected for LG but ahead of the 46 million projected for Sony Ericsson.

The top-two leading vendors, Nokia and Samsung Electronics, shipped about 240 million and 95 million handsets, respectively, in the first six months of this year, the sources indicated.

Despite declining on-quarter handset shipments from Motorola, the ratio of ODM handsets from the two major contract makers in Taiwan, Compal Communications and Chi Mei Communication Systems (CMCS), to Motorola's total handset shipments climbed to over 40% in the second quarter compared to 25-30% previously, estimated the sources. This indicates that handset models developed by Motorola in house were affected more seriously than those entry-level models provided by ODM makers, the sources contended.

Emang loh Ponsel Motorola itu turun pasannya, dan dah lama berita ini. Yang jelas yah pihak Motorola.inc pasti nga tinggal diem. Salah satu caranya yah yang paling kecil adalah merilis produk baru buat mencoba menarik konsumen, dalam hal ini Motorola ZN5, dimana divisi mobile Motorola kerja sama dengan pihak Kodak buat ngembangin sebuah ponsel yang mempunyai kinerja kamera mumpuni. Beberapa pihak kemudian membandingkan kinerjanya dengan device serupa dari vendor laen, dan hasilnya Motorola ZN5 ini boleh dikatakan memiliki kinerja lebih baik.

Jadi jelas semua usaha ini artinya untuk mencoba menarik pasar konsumen, yah yang namanya usaha..besar atau kecil hasilnya itu adalah buah kepedulian. so ane sendiri cukup yakin dengan Motorola ZN5 ini memiki kinerja kamera yang mumpuni dibanding produk serupa (meski nga sama percis) vendor laen.

Jadi kesimpulannya (dari uraian postingan di tread ini) Motorola ZN5 memiliki kinerja kamera yang lebih baik dibanding Sony Ericsson K850, Nokia N82 dan N95. Suka atau tidak itulah kenyataannya (pengalaman pihak pihak yang membandingkan kinerja kamera pada sebuah device ponsel). Yang sebelomnya kinerja Motorola ZN5 masih kurang baik dikarenakan produknya bukan produk yang siap release.

Ada baiknya mari kita buktikan sendiri nantinya.

Earnings: SonyEricsson Q1 Collapses On R&D Costs, Lower High-End Sales

SonyEricsson (NSDQ: ERIC) sales collapsed to 2.7 billion euros ($4.3 billion) in Q1 - down eight percent from 2.92 billion euros in the year-ago period and 3.77 billion euros in the preceding quarter - thanks to ”slowing market growth in mid-to-high end phones”. Pre-tax profit also fell 47 percent to 193 million on higher R&D costs (the company will shortly launch its Xperia X1 Windows Mobile multimedia phone).

And average handset selling price fell from 134 euros last year to 121 euros “due to the impact of softer sales of high-to-mid end models in key markets”. But, in the earnings call, the company refused to detail which markets - and this is still high compared to Nokia (NYSE: NOK) phones.

Coupled with Nokia’s forecast last week of a shrinkage in the mobile market this year, it sounds like tough times ahead. Except Sony (NYSE: SNE) Ericsson is forecasting 10 percent growth, thanks to emerging markets.

New president Dick Komiyama, in the call: “The industry still has a good potential for growth and our challenge is to ensure that we have the right product at the correct price. The first quarter of the year is always very busy in the telephone industry. Although it has been a difficult quarter, Sony Ericsson can be optimistic that it is on the right track in the long term.”

Sony Ericsson’s marketshare for the first quarter was around 8 percent, down from 9 percent in the fourth quarter of last year, but about the same year-on-year.

Sony Ericsson Warns Slowing Handset Sales And Delays To Hit Q2 Earnings

Not good news from Sony (NYSE: SNE) Ericsson (NSDQ: ERIC). The fifth largest handset manufacturer said today that slowing demand for its mid-to-high end mobile phones and its delay in shipping some new products will hit its second quarter sales and earnings. The company said it now expected to break even before taxes.

It now plans to ship 24 million phones in the second quarter with an estimated average selling price (ASP) of 115 euros ($181). It also said that it expected gross margins to decline, both year over year, and compared to Q1.

Jyske Bank analyst Robert Jacobsen told Bloomberg that the company’s current problems seem to be similar to the ones they had in the first quarter. The handset maker announced in March that slowing handset sales would hurt their Q1 earnings. Jacobsen, said, however, that he expected a “gradual improvement” for Sony Ericsson, and for them to return to profit in the second half. (Release).

Motorola Impresses With 5-Megapixel Camera Phone

Motorola (NYSE: MOT) and Kodak officially unveiled the Motozine ZN5 today. This latest handset from Motorola boasts a Kodak-branded 5-megapixel shooter with Kodak-approved optics and flash. It also packs some serious Kodak camera software. Have I mentioned that Kodak helped develop the camera? Insta-review says: Darned good camera phone.

I had a chance to play with the Motorola Motozine ZN5 at a briefing late last week. My first impression is, the camera will wow you more than the phone will. I can't stress enough how good the camera itself and the camera software of the ZN5 are.

First, the optics are high quality. Motorola and Kodak would not disclose who manufactures them, but assured me it was a "top brand." Below the optics lays a 5-megapixel camera with autofocus. Autofocus is a key feature to have, especially in a camera with so many megapixels. The autofocus is fairly fast, too. Most often, it takes less than one second to focus. The result? Sharp images. You also can bypass the autofocus in those moments when you simply don't have a second to wait.

Because Kodak knows a few things about making cameras, it has made sure that the ZN5's camera is optimized for low-light picture taking. That means it has built-in algorithms to make sure pictures you take in dark rooms still turn out good. Part of this is the inclusion of a full flash for the phone. No dinky, paltry LED flash here. We're talking a real flash, for a real camera. The result? Images that are balanced.

One of the sample photos taken with the ZN5 and blown up to a 16-by-20 enlargement was of two people standing in the doorway of a train, looking out. You could see the sky in the background. A picture like this is asking for the interior to be underexposed, and the outside -- especially the sky -- to be overexposed. It wasn't. The image was perfectly metered, and the ZN5 had fired the perfect amount of fill flash to correctly expose the people inside the train. This is far and away better than what most camera phones are capable of.

Aside from the great quality of the camera is the software helping to run it. Motorola and Kodak worked together to create a set of software that is super-intuitive to use and help aid in the picture-taking process. Kodak also has added its Easy Share software, which allows you to send photos to the Kodak Gallery with the push of a button. With camera-specific buttons popping up on the ZN5's keypad, you can also quickly delete images from your library.

OK, enough about how great the camera is. What about the phone itself? Well, it looks very similar to the Motorokr E8. Same size/shape. But the materials feel different. I was using a preproduction unit, and unfortunately it felt a little on the cheap side. Who knows if this will be improved with production units. It has quad-band GSM/EDGE, which means you can roam the world over, but it lacks 3G of any kind. Instead of 3G, it carries Wi-Fi for wirelessly transferring images to photo-sharing services or wherever else you choose to send them.

It also has stereo Bluetooth, a full 3.5-mm headset jack, music player, and all the other stuff you expect to find on a high-end phone.

In all, it is Motorola's best camera phone yet, and can certainly be used to replace your standalone point-and-shoot camera.
