Android developer Trevor Eckhart menemukannya beberapa waktu lalu.

berikut attachment suara I-Ringnya.

Jon Rubinstein just made it official during their financial results conference call, folks: Palm is only going to develop webOS devices from now on. Say goodbye to Palm-branded Windows Mobile Devices:

Due to importance of webOS to our overall strategy, we've made the decision to dedicate all future develoment resources to the evolution of webOS. Which means that going forward, our roadmap will include only Palm webOS-based devices

Does this mean the end of the Treo line? Not necessarily, Rubinstein prefaced the above comment by emphasizing how well the webOS can fit for business. Will we see a webOS-based Treo?

dari TreoCentral memberitakan bahwa:
"Update: That's all we got, Palm has a strict policy of not talking about future devices, so we won't know if there will be a webOS-based Treo again until, well, until Palm announces it."

bagaimana menurut anda rekan-rekan?

Note:
gue pemakai Treo 180,270,600,650, sampai Centro (Palm OS)

Namun kemampuan sinyal gak perlu diragukan lagi.

Semakin kinclong, namun ukuran lebarnya yg diperkecil. Jadi pemakai Treo sebelumnya akan kecewa dgn ukurannya (bukan resolusi lho). Tapi mungin disasarkan utk target market cewek dan mobile yg butuh praktis. Nyaman dikantongi.

Memory Internal yg 64 MB sangat leluasa digunakan, hampir 3x lipat Treo sebelumnya.

Untuk aplikasi kantoran built-in tertanam program terkenal dari DataViz - Documents To Go
- Document editor (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, PDF)
- MP3 player (built-in)
- Organizer
- Voice memo

Thanks to bigger Battery

bersambung..

But, dont worry.

Buat nyetel film hi-res gak malu-maluin. Keyboard QWERTY stylenya familiar dan friendly. Mungkin yg rada aneh adalah ukuran layar yg Square beda sama PDA-Phone pada umumnya yg memanjang/melebar. Khas banget rasa Treo. Navigasi bulatnya cocok banget buat berpinda-pindah menu (bahkan sambil merek sekalipun).

Kecepatan bagus waktu dijejali memory 4 GB tanpa lag.

Tapi pastikan ukuran Ampere mencukupi (diatas 600mA hingga 1000mA)

Adapun Kamera cukup sekedar shoot sana-sini 2MP.

Messaging SMS (threaded view), MMS, Email, wow absolutely khas Treo. SMS chatting yg udah ditiru banyak vendor ponsel lainnya ini, memiliki kemampuan arsip yg lebih bagus dari sebelumnya, meskipun sayangnya emoticons menghilang
But, untuk email dan MMS good performance.

Browsernya? tentu saja PocketIE bawaan WM.

Tentang JAVA? Thats Amazing.. waktu check performance Treo sebelumnya, ternyata Palm memilih Esmertec sebagai Java Engine. Dahsyat, cepat sekali dan yg jelas kompatible hampir dengan semua aplikasi Java yg beredar.

Kemampuan Office versi terbaru
- Organizer
- Pocket Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, PDF viewer)
- Voice memo

bersambung..

Obama Menangi Perang Pertama -- Pertahankan Blackberry

Hmm... tinggal cek Provider apa yg dipakai Obama, lalu lakukan bruteforce atau MySQL injection, sabotase account, replikasi dsb... Dapet deh (teroritisnya)

Dear All FBIers,

Thanks in advance...

The Palm T|X is Palm's new wireless handheld. It features a improved 320 x 480 pixel screen, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth wireless and 128MB of nonvolatile memory. The T|X drops the Tungsten sub-brand moniker but adds Wi-Fi at a very competitive price.

The T|X and Z22 are the first new models to return to the Palm name, after the company reacquired the rights to the Palm name. Palm has decided to drop the Tungsten sub brand, in order to highlight the strong Palm name brand.

Design
The T|X has solid body and finish. It is black plastic, though it is very rigid and almost feels like a metallic shell. The T|X is physically identical to its predecessor the Tungsten T5 besides the new black color. It has the exact same dimensions and body.

Overall the T|X has a very simple and smooth design reminiscent of the Palm V. The rectangular display makes up the majority of the front of the handheld. A white painted Palm logo is pressed along the top. The sides are smooth and the corners are nicely rounded. The left side functions as an attachment rail for the flip cover and the right rail doubles as a slightly open stylus silo.

Two sets of black customizable application buttons border the rounded rectangle 5-way navigator in the center. The buttons are flush with the case and have a sturdy feel. The 5-way is solid and has a smooth finish and is easily to pressed in each direction.

The top of the handheld is made of a glossy black plastic. On the left is the SD expansion slot, which unfortunately lacks a dust cover. To the right is the IR window, the standard 3.5 mm headphone jack and the power button. The bottom is slightly curved to the font and holds the multi connector in the center.

The back of the handheld is mostly smooth. The reset button is in the mid center and is now large enough to be pushed with the stylus tip. The speaker is also located on the center of the back, with a 5x5 hole grid. Below that is the standard sticker label with the Palm T|X logo and the usual logos and serial numbers.

The T|X has physical dimensions of 4.76 x 3.08 x .61 inches (120 x 78 x 15.5 mm) and weighs 5.25 ounces (149 g). It is just slightly larger and taller than the Tungsten E2. It is both shorter and thinner than the LifeDrive.

The handheld comes with a pleather black flip cover. It has a white stitching border that says "palm" centered on the bottom. It is a little different from the T5 flip cover as it has a more suede like feel. The stylus is polished steel metal and has a nice silver barrel with a black plastic tip. It is the same stylus as the T5 and is fairly comfortable with a good weight and size.

Hardware
The Palm T|X is powered by a 312 MHz Intel XScale (PXA270 family) processor and runs Palm OS Garnet v.5.4.9. It has 128 MB of nonvolatile memory, of which 100 MB is user accessible. It has both Bluetooth (v1.1) and Wi-Fi (802.11b) wireless technology. It also has a SD expansion slot for SD, SDIO and MMC memory cards.

Screen
The T|X has a 16bit color, 480x320 pixel transflective TFT screen, which measures 3.25" x 2.2" inches. It is the same improved display that the LifeDrive is equipped with. The display is 30% brighter and has 40% better color saturation than previous models. The screen is very vibrant and holds up extremely well both outdoors and in direct sunlight. There is an on-screen slider to adjust, but it does not turn off the backlight. The display supports both portrait and wide-screen landscape orientations and switches with a touch of the icon on the status bar.

Processor
The Palm T|X uses a 312 MHz Intel XScale processor. While not the fastest chip on the market the T|X performs very well and the lower clock speed helps increase battery life. Listening to an mp3 and browsing the web over Wi-Fi was no problem and every game I threw at it ran very smoothly. Benchmark v3.0 rates the performance at 515%.

Dual Wireless
The Palm T|X has both Bluetooth v1.1 and a WiFi (802.11b) wireless radio's built in. The T|X is one of the most affordable PDA's on the market with integrated dual wireless. Both radios can be used concurrently.

Wi-Fi
Wi-Fi is controlled by a signal strength indicator on the status bar. Setting up a network connection is a fast and easy. There is a network scanner that shows all networks in range. If the network is open all you need to do is tap connect and wait 2 seconds to establish a link. The Wi-Fi signal range on the T|X is quite good. It supports both WEP and WPA wireless security.

Bluetooth
Bluetooth can keep you connected on the road via a compatible mobile phone if you can't find a nearby WiFi hotspot for internet access. With Bluetooth, you can dial out contacts from your address book, send and receive files and applications wirelessly, send sms and photos from your phone, link up to a Bluetooth GPS, hotsync wirelessly, and connect to the internet from a bluetooth mobile phone, computer or a bluetooth access point. Palm includes setup wizards that make connecting to a bluetooth phone and dial-up network connection very easy.

Memory
The Palm T|X has 128 MB of nonvolatile flash memory, of which 100 MB is available. This is a pretty ample amount of internal space, given its price point. There is no usb drive mode, as seen on the T5 and LifeDrive. Because the unit uses nonvolatile flash memory, it will always preserve its data even when the battery completely runs out.

Audio
The T|X has a rear mounted mono speaker. The speaker is adequate for games and alarms. You can also play mp3's though the speaker but headphones (not included) will provide a much better experience. It has a standard 3.5 mm stereo headphone jack. Unfortunately, the T5 does not include vibration support or and LED for silent alarms and does not have a microphone. I was disappointed to discover the T|X still uses the same old fashioned pilot 1000 alarm sounds for the calendar.

Mulit-Connector
The T|X has the now standard Palm multi-connector for hotsyncing and recharging. The T|X hotsync runs at usb 1.1 speeds. Unfortunately, the T|X does not ship with a cradle. Instead it comes with a USB cable and a separate AC charger, that can plug directly into the handheld or into the dual USB cable connector. The USB cable alone will not charge the handheld from the computer, you must attach the AC cord. The supplied USB cable has a button on the connector that can be used to initiate a hotsync.

Battery
The TX has a non-removable 1250 mAh lithium ion rechargeable battery. Palm states the T|X will have a 5 day battery life with normal usage. Normal usage according to Palm would be approximately 40 minutes/day (20 mins of Wi-Fi, 20 mins of non wireless use such as PIMs, Photos and Docs). The T|X can play continuous mp3 audio for about six and a half hours. If you plan on using the Wi-Fi often you will definitely have a shorter life span. I have only had my review unit for a few days so I can't really make a fair assessment of the battery life yet and will come back and update this section.

Specs
Size & Weight: 4.76 x 3.08 x .61 inches (120x78x15.5 mm); 5.25 oz (149g)
Processor: 312 MHz Intel PXA270
Operating System: Palm OS Garnet v5.4.9
Memory: 128 MB nonvolatile RAM; (100 MB user accessible)
Expansion: SD/SDIO/MMC slot
Screen: 320x480 pixel; 65k-color; transflective back-lit
Audio: stereo headset jack; rear speaker
Power: Built in Rechargable Li-Ion Poly (1250 mAh)
Connectivity: Multi-Connector, IrDA, Bluetooth (v1.1), Wi-Fi (802.11b)

Software
Of course the Palm T|X includes Palm's excellent enhanced PIM applications. The PIM apps more closely resemble Microsoft Outlook for better compatibility. Calendar features an agenda view that lists your upcoming schedule, tasks that are due and shows the status of your VersaMail inbox. You can also select a background image for the agenda view. You can also set a background image in the launcher and favorites application. You can assign colors to different categories, add appointment location details and a there is year calendar view. Palm also made it possible to have events spanning midnight, separate calendar support and the ability to beam multiple appointments and categories.

Contacts has all the latest enhancements including contact photo support. You can have multiple contact addresses, such as work, home, other. The are more fields for additional phone numbers, email addresses, website and instant messaging accounts. There are a total of nine custom fields and a birthday field, which will keep track and remind you before someone's approaching birthday.

Office Compatibility
Palm bundles the latest v7.006 release of Dataviz's Documents to Go in the device ROM. Docs to Go supports creating and editing native Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint documents. You can access files received from email attachments, Bluetooth, stored on SD or beamed to the device. It also includes DocSync to sync with documents on a Mac or PC. Dataviz is currently working on support for native Adobe pdf files and expects to release it later this fall.

Multimedia
The T|X includes Palm's media application for viewing photos and videos. The media application has been greatly speed up to display photo thumbnails, even from large megapixel digital cameras. You can manage and create photo albums on the device or an expansion card. The program can also display slide shows with a number of different animated transitions. The video player has been updated with full screen mode, but still does not support many video codec's such as Divx. Fortunately there is a more than excellent free media player available, TCPMP to pick up the slack.

Palm includes Pocket-Tunes v3.09 for digital audio. This is a much nicer player than RealPlayer and offers support for background play, on device playlists and skins. It supports MP3, WAV and Ogg Vorbis files. Unfortunately this version does not support WMA files or the windows based music stores.

The T|X includes Palm's Blazer web browser v4.3 for wireless web surfing. Blazer is an excellent and very speedy browser. It renders web pages significantly faster because it displays the text first, before loading the formatting and images. Sometimes its rendering leaves a bit to be desired and I wish it would support smaller fonts. It has both an optimized and a widescreen mode and supports javascript and VPN connections (with VPN software). The browser also has excellent support for bookmarks and offers proxy and proxyless browsing modes.

VersaMail v3.1 is the included email client. It supports both POP and IMAP email servers, users can download mail wirelessly or by synchronizing with their desktops. For Enterprise users whose companies run Microsoft Exchange Server 2003, VersaMail has built in Microsoft Exchange Server ActiveSync that will directly import and enable corporate email and calendar synchronization.

One Handed Navigation
The Palm T|X incorporates the one handed navigation system that debuted on the Treo series for a superb one handed user experience. The 5-way navigator and new code make it possible to perform many tasks without using the stylus or needing to tap the screen. There is a light blue glow that highlights dialogs and form elements, that acts much like an on screen cursor. It really makes using the handheld with one hand easy and much more intuitive. It works well within many of the included apps and also works on many existing third party programs.

The one-handhed experience has further been improved with the addition of a dedicated Home button that can link back the launcher or the favorites application. Holding down the home button for a few seconds will also bring up a list of your last six apps used.

To make room for the Wi-Fi icon on the status bar, Palm removed the home button from the status bar. That omission makes stylus navigation a bit more cumbersome. You are forced to either bring up the input area, or hit the home button with your finger or stylus. It would have made more sense to keep the home icon and move the find option somewhere else, instead of dropping more useful navigation function.

Graffiti 2 handwriting recognition is included for data input on the handheld. The dynamic input area can also be used as an onscreen keyboard and you can also write Graffiti anywhere on the screen.

With all the reported instability of the Tungsten T5 and Treo 650, the T|X seems to corrects a lot of issues. I found the T|X to be a very stable machine, and it hasn't crashed on me yet. Also gone is the status bar flicker bug from the T5.

One the desktop side of things, Palm includes their Quick Install program for Windows. Quick Install simplifies installing programs and converting documents and photos for handheld use. Users simply drag zip files, prc application files, photos, videos and even MS office files into the app and it will preform the necessary conversion and install the the files on the next hotsync. The software CD includes the Palm Desktop for windows and Mac as well as the Outlook synchronization conduit.

The full list of applications on the device include: Quick Tour, Addit (for news headlines and adding software), Calc (with Advanced mode), Calendar, Card Info, Contacts, Dailer, Documents to Go, Expense, Favorites, HotSync, Media, Memos, Note Pad, pTunes, SMS, Solitare, Tasks, VersaMail, Blazer web browser and World Clock.

On the included CD is the Palm Desktop for Windows and Mac OS X, Adobe Acrobat Reader, Audbile player, eReader, a trail of HandMark Express and WiFile for accessing files on a PC over Wi-Fi.

Summary
The Palm T|X is an affordable and desirable handheld at $299. The wait is over for an reasonably priced handheld with Wi-Fi in a compact form factor. The T|X combines a incredible amount of features an capabilities at an outstanding debut price.

The Palm T|X is available now from the Palm online store and at Palm Retail Stores and at select retail and resellers throughout the world.

Alcatel has not spoiled its worshipers with many models in a clamshell form-factor and many people have connected the announcement of several such models in Cannes with the start of working with TCL. Truly, the first wave of the products in the factor was planned and developed by only Alcatel and the C651 is the first phone by the company in the segment (as a new model, Alcatel 835 has differed from other models in some functions). The manufacturers went a well proved way and turned a widely known Alcatel 756/757 into a model of another form-factor. The designers applied some unordinary changes to make the device stick in user's memory.

The size of the phone is typical for this class and forms 90x48x23.5 mm, while the weigh is 93 grams. Its external screen is placed in a unique angle of 45 degrees and has a usual horizontal orientation but not vertical. At first sight this disposition seems uncomfortable, but actually rouses no problems and irritation while using. The display is two-sided (96x25 pixels), one line is icons and another one shows time a date or a number (a name) of a caller. The screen is inversion and that means white letter on the black background looking quite pleasant. A user may set animation represented with moving squares and resembling an equalizer besides a standard headband. All the characters are well seen even with the backlighting off. The minus of the screen is its lag effect or such realization of animation at the call. The resolution of the screen allows showing 10 numbers while phone numbers consist of 11. The numbers are constantly scrolled and that makes a feeling of a merged motion. The same effect appears when scrolling a name on the external screen.

When working with a headset the external screen shows a list of 20 calls. That is quite comfortable and allows viewing the list without opening the device. This functionality won't be demanded in some situations.

The device is equipped with interchangeable panels similar to the ones used in the Sony Ericsson Z600 (in the organization and not dimensions, of course). The upper panel is easy to take off and the back one being a cover at the same time is also not difficult to take off. The panels show no backlash and the construction is quite reliable. One extra set is included into the package besides the preset ones. A standard kit is probable to combine two colours, one calm and a more vivid one (grey and red, for instance). It won't make any trouble picking up some extra panels later.

There are no control elements besides a side coupled volume button outside. A headset connector closed with a rubber shutter and a charger one are placed to the top of the phone. An IrDA gap is near and it is fully-functional here. A VGA-camera and a mirror are placed on the back splay. This disposition is compromise, since while shooting you can close the objective with your fingers.

The upper part of the clamshell is smaller than the bottom one, which is unordinary. In first minutes of using the device you can have an illusory feeling of discomfort. Though everyday using proves the opposite. Opening the device is possible with any hand and the device rouses no tearing away by this parameter.

The internal screen is similar to the one in Alcatel 756/757, but the manufacturer claims 65 K here. We have written that the change of the Alcatel 756 (from 65K to 262K) specs in the last moment were dictated by the marketing reasons and not a real change of the characteristics. This model proves those words; the manufacturer realized that race for the number of the colours shown will lead to the dead end. The quality of the picture is good; especially that concerns the preset images, the interface of the phone. The screen resolution is 128x160 pixels (28x36 mm), it may hold up to 9 lines and four of them are service ones. The STN screen fades in the sun, but the information is still readable.

The keypad is made of plastic and a navi button has an Ok one inscribed. Just before the very launch it was decided to replace the camera button with the C one. Some users accidentally pressed C that led to leaving the necessary item. The keypad is average in comfort with no any cavils. The backlighting is green, not very bright and doesn't fade the characters in the bright sun.

The battery is 650-mAh Li-Ion. According to the manufacturer it is capable of working for up to 290 hours in the standby mode and up to 4.5 hours in the talk mode. In Moscow the device worked for about 2 days in case of 35 minutes of talks and up to 20 minutes of using other functions. The battery life should be considered equal to 2 days, since it works more only with significantly less talks. Full recharging takes about 1.5 hours.

The software was inherited from the ОТ 756 with no changes. The main menu may be represented in three variants. The first one shows three icons, the selected one is animated and placed in the centre. The second variant represents only one colorful static picture. The third way shows all the menu items as small icons, that is three rows with fours icons in each. The second variant looks the most colorful; the pictures are well drawn, in other cases the menu images are not as well.

The device holds 4 MB of dynamic memory shared among all the applications when necessary. Fast navigation using number series is present, tags may be assigned to functions, then they will be available by one touch.

The functions are represented as lists in submenus and, by the way, gathered in groups. That is better to explain considering the example of Messages. On entering the menu you see a row of icons with Create a message distinguished on top. You can choose a message type from a list, move the joystick horizontally to see received or sent messages and another list will appear. At first sight this organization looks quite complicated, but it is fast to get used to, it is logical and helps relieving the menu, thus there are no conglomerations of items opposite to other manufacturers. In general the organization of the menu impressed well, they are all thought over. So, there is a special bookmark for images in a library and the one for icons.

Unfortunately, the localization remained the same. Russian characters became clearer, but the Cyrillic inscription greatly differs from the English one. Russian letters are light and thin, the font is hard to make out. The combination of Russian and English looks weird because of the difference in the characters' drawing. This models is one of the last with such a disadvantage, later the company plans to redesign all the fonts for Russian language and make them of a uniform style.

Phone book. The phone's memory is divided into several directories. There is a separate directory for the contacts kept on the SIM-card, in addition to that there exist three more folders by default-a General, a Business and a Personal one. The user can create directories of his/her own; they serve as different groups of users in this phone. You can assign a call melody to some of the folders; however, you cannot do it for single file

Up to 26 fields may be filled for a name, they are Name, Surname, up to 7 numbers, two e-mail addresses, home page URL, Nickname, Birth date, Company name, Position, Address, City, Region, Post index, Country, a field with notes and up to 4 fields with extra information. The only drawback is when entering a new contact you'll have to scroll all the fields gradually to reach the necessary one. You can't do it at once. Voice marks may be assigned to separate entries, and then voice dialing is possible for those names. There is a search by the first letter of a name.

It is possible to assign a picture or a video clip from preset ones or loadable ones to every entry in the phone. The phone supports work with files of: JPG, GIF, aGIF, PNG, BMP, WBMP standards. Video standards supported are 3gp (H263/AMR, MPEG4), .mp4.

No limitation on the number of entries, everything depends on the free space.

Messages. Besides working with SMS the device supports MMS and EMS standards. Working with all the message types is ordinary and rouses no problems. You can add smiles, pictures, melodies and/or wap-browser tags into the body of a message. Several slides are possible to create for MMS, the capacity limit forms 100 KB. A message may be sent to a single user or a group. There are Russian and English T9.

Personalization. Almost everything concerning the phone settings is here. Choose a melody, a call type, adjust the menu appearance, set a picture for the main screen, adjust "hot" keys and etc. You can set vibro only, vibro and a melody at once, vibro then a melody. In short, there are many signal type settings that will be up to you.

You can set a picture or a video for the screen, choose the way the main menu is represented, set colour schemes. An interesting function is Atmosphere (a set of pictures, interface colour scheme and a melody). While viewing you not just see the design but hear a call melody selected. And, of course, nothing prevents from doing it all separately

Call log. A list of calls - missed, incoming, outgoing. Everything concerning voice dialing is also here.

Fast access. Create a personal menu for accessing the necessary menu items, phone book contacts and Internet addresses.

Tools. This menu holds an organizer. You can view either weekly or monthly or in a list that shows all planned events. The monthly view is quite handy as events are divided by dates, for instance, 14.03-20.03, 21.03-27.03 etc. The events are the following - a meeting (date, time on and off, text note), a birthday (date and name) and a call (there are also reminders which has priority and time off).

Two alarm clocks are present. One is set for a precise date and another one is everyday. A timer is also here

A plain calculator and a currency converter are present.

You can create a personal melody by notes or record it on a Dictaphone from an external source. The limitation is 60 seconds.

Voice commands are assigned to a necessary menu item.

In the Signal item a list of meetings, notes with a signal assigned and an alarm clock are shown.

Services provide an access to SIM menu and WAP - to My One Touch site.

WAP. The browser in the phone is of 2.0 version, there are no particularities here.

Games. The phone is equipped with two games, one of them being SpeedDevils and the other one GylosTale. You can download new games (only using the wap).

Multimedia Album. All the pictures and melodies are represented here. The range of the pictures and melodies is very large and in this sense, the phone is great. The selection of droll and funny pictures is such that you just do not know where to start choosing from. Several funny video clips are also preset in the phone.

Camera. The pictures can be taken in the resolution of 640x480, 352x288, 128x128, 64x64, 32x32 and 16x16 pixels. Besides, the big scale mode shooting is offered for which the image is scratched horizontally. In any case, the picture format will be the JPEG one and the three different dimensions and quality types are presented (high, standard and economy).

The phone's display is used as a viewfinder. The interface has been thought through in all the details so while shooting you can change almost every image parameter by several presses. The function of the number keys 1, 2, 3 is to tune in the quality of the required size of the screen. The left soft key is there for the color choice (color picture, white and black, Sepia, Negative, Thin or contours).

With the # key you can quickly switch the picture resolutions, while the * key offers a set of several special modes. One of the modes is the option to create a GIF file using four shots. This means that you take four sequential shots, which then immediately turn into an animation in your phone. One restriction here is the resolution of 128x128 pixels that the developers found mostly convenient to save phone's memory. The function is truly unique and adds to the phone's exclusivity especially since other manufacturers had nothing alike to offer yet.

Another special shooting mode is the mosaic. This mode allows you to take four pictures (32x32 pixels) and then pleat them into one complete image (128x128).

The phone is equipped with the timer for the shooting with a delay. I am not to judge how necessary this function is, I find the Exposure setting more interesting. This function controls the lighting conditions by default although you can identify them yourself. In most cases, the automatic Exposure is sufficient.

You can choose the folders, where the pictures will be saved and can be taken out of for the MMS screen savers, by default.

I forgot to mention that you could use the frames for the pictures with the resolution of 128x128 pixels. This is a sort of an effect when you border the picture with a frame while shooting. Another exceptional feature of the phone is that you can download the frames' files (PNG format) from PC, which means that you can create the special effects of your own. None of the phones has a similar function although the frames are used in many of them.

The phone is also empowered with the digital eight times zoom that you can activate by moving the joystick away from you. The zoom function is followed with a sound resembling the one the objective in digital cameras produces when moving - sounds rather funny.

The pictures look not bad on the phone screen and quite acceptable on a PC. The only disadvantage is the corners are degrade

Sample Phot in ZIP archive here

The video is recorded in the 3GP format with a limitation of 93 KB or 9 seconds, but for MMS messages. Also you can record video with no limitations, to be precise, until the memory is empty

Video clips are shown not full screen, slight slow down is observed when playing them, probably, the processor can't cope with this load. Though the clips are of a normal quality.
Sample Video 3GP can download here and here too

Impressions

The model is a complete copy of the Alcatel 756 and that is why I'll let myself repeat the conclusions made for that model. The device has no problems with the connection quality, the loudspeaker volume and a microphone sensitivity are enough for a conversation in any conditions, either that is an office or a noisy street. The signal volume is enough and it is heard well even from under winter clothes. And the vibro signal is average in power and may be missed. The speakerphone function is on a high level.
Mp3 files are not supported, only midi, SMAF, wav-files. The refusal from mp3 doesn't look logical in the phone and cuts the functionality. The 40-tones polyphony sounds typical for a segment. An unhappy opening angle may be called a disadvantage of the Alcatel C651, the microphone catches all the external sounds in the wind and your interlocutor hears you badly. The smaller battery capacity shortens the battery life but still is not a very serious minus. The model acts in the same segment as the Siemens CFX65, Motorola v220, it is quite well-taken and can compete with the models. The device will be interesting with the price of 180 USD and if appearing on the market in the end of April, though low brand popularity will attract little attention to the device. The device is good for youth, school children, making no serious problems since using time-proved solutions. Indicating an STN-screen in the specs seems a mistake, since visual comparison with the Alcatel 756 showed no differences, the screens are identical.
